I'm on my first re-read of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Last time I read it was about 15-20 years ago and it's every bit as delightful as I remembered.

Make eye contact while farting to assert dominance.

The join page is definitely the issue. I had already joined lemmy.ml before I read that they were encouraging people to join other instances. Perhaps I should have read the page more closely, but if it was that big of an issue, make the warning/request more prevalent.

What are your thoughts on the Pinephone? Do you use it regularly or as a daily driver or is it more just a device you tinker with here and there? I've been thinking of getting one for a while but haven't been able to convince myself to pull the trigger, even with how affordable it is.

Debian on all of my servers.

I've had Fedora on my Framework laptop for the last year and have really enjoyed the out-of-the-box usability. I think the only troubleshooting I've had to do over that year is some weird issues with CUPS.

I'd love to check out Void one of these days, though, or switch back over to Arch, which was my primary for a few years before Fedora. As an aging dude, distro-hopping isn't quite as exciting as it was 10-15 years ago when I had more time and energy to play around.

That's fair and I feel the same way. I think it would have to be a loooong track record over multiple years to convince me.

That said, I'd like to give anyone the benefit of the doubt, even u/spez if he were to come out with a sincere enough apology (not that I'm holding my breath or anything).

Reddit would basically have to undo a decade of transformation and prove that they've learned to listen to their community. Only after earning my trust with a proven track record of community-driven decisions would I come back.

After the AMA yesterday, I made the decision to delete all of my posts and comments. I'm not sure I see a reason todeletee my account altogether as I think not giving traffic to Reddit is more important, so I left everything else the way it is. Maybe one of these days I'll go back through and delete everything for good.

All that said, like most other people here, I have no intention of going back, especially after yesterday, unless there's some sort of drastic change which is very unlikely.
