@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games I'm convinced it would've done better without SEGA of America's screwing up of the launch and the 32X.

I was honestly surprised that it has half the games of the PlayStation and over double the N64, the support was clearly there for it before they royally screwed things up.

Never owned one myself, we had a PlayStation, but I'd love to make games for it one day.

@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games My fondest memory of this game was resetting every time I didn't get Pikachu as my player character lmao. The soundtrack was a bop.

@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games True, the last time I found these style of games that were genuinely great were back in the days of Big Fish Games. The modern stuff doesn't quite hit the same, they feel more like those time waster pastime titles you'd find on facebook way back.

I miss Big Fish Games; when I think of Windows XP, they're the first thing that comes to mind.

@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games The books for this were class👌, I can't imagine myself buying a game for it; but the book series I'd totally buy again if I see them.

I don't think the hidden object style of entertainment will ever hit as hard as it did with Where's Wally/Waldo or the Mortimer Beckett series' of games/books.

I actually never knew this series had a game, I'm tempted to find and try it purely out of curiosity.

@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games This game didn't deserve such backlash for its visuals at the time, it holds up way better in that regard than many other games of its time.

I'm just glad it gets the love it deserves these days.

@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games Funny enough I think I saw Ghost Squad in CeX the other day when they had their "spooky sales" section up alongside other Wii titles fit for Halloween like Resi Evil 4, I'll be sure to grab that one if it's still there next time I go.

As for arcades though, same here. The only arcades were always near the beach, the closest things we had locally were computer cafés and such. I always wondered why they were so far out as a kid.

@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games I remember the first time I laid eyes upon house of the dead in the arcades as a kid and being so scared yet unable to take my eyes away from it.
Wasn't until 2011 on a ferry to Normandy where I saw it again on the second floor and finally tried it.

Still need to buy the first two on Dreamcast; then I plan to get this one as well, you can never have too many light gun games.

I just wish they'd make a good modern way to play them, like what the PlayStation Move could've been.

@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games I had Emerald, but this series peaked for me here.

It's the game I played most on my GBA SP by far.

@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games This is why I believe all games should be given a physical release too, it's hard to preserve things we can't acquire anymore.

@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games Wiimotes were honestly perfect for the light gun style of games.
I've been thinking of a way to use sensors to imitate light gun tech in the modern day for games like this. House of the Dead was a solid one, really needs to make a comeback.

@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games They should've done more with this series, one of the best by far.

Legendary in its time. I don't think we'd ever seen such movie-esque story in gaming before or for a long time after.

@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games Ever played Frame Gride?
You like mechs, you'll love that one.

Shame FromSoft never port their games to other systems, they really had something with that.
