It is better but it’s also completely different. Which is fine - it’s a more interesting story - but to me they seemed barely connected to each other. Though it had been a really long time since I read the book.

Probably the only one who thinks this, but Gone Girl. The movie was nothing amazing but it was pretty good. The book I just could not stand. The conceit of the first part being from her fake POV bored me and for the rest of it I couldn’t get over how much I hated her. I hated her in the movie too but I felt like I had more of a break from her I guess.

I was going to say the Handmaid’s Tale. Except I really loved the show (the first couple of seasons anyway) and I like the book a lot too. But I liked how the show had some backstory about the birth rate, for example.

I didn’t see the movie but wow the book is overrated.
