Fascinating! Thanks for posting this.

Dream list: make it so I can press a button to inhibit hunger for 20-60m. Would be handy for when I know I’ll be eating soon but am annoyingly hungry anyway.

Good. I hope the lawsuit is successful. Intel did not handle this very well, to say the least.

Mistakes are OK. How you handle them makes a difference and Intel has been a shitshow on this front. For a long time.

If they had been acting in good faith the entire time this lawsuit would not exist.

To start one without ties to your name is more difficult, at least in my state. You’d have to have a registered agent you trust and to file articles of incorporation. Plus get an EIN.

Even with an EIN, so as far as the federal government is concerned single member LLCs are basically sole proprietorships for tax purposes.

Unsure about the effect of recent ownership laws; almost certainly bad for privacy at some level.

Regardless of all that, financial institutions won’t grant credit to entities that don’t have their own income. Normally a history of income, and income not tied to a single member LLC. Been there done that. Yes my LLC has credit cards but at their core they are tied to the financial backing that my personal credit history provided.

It is possible you could jump through all those hoops and still gain a measure of privacy. There are vastly easier ways, imho.

Yes! I hate this!! There seems to be an industry wide practice of never carrying any product consistently.

I understand that if something had to be put on clearance even in-season that they’re not going to buy more of it. But surely bringing back best sellers would be profitable?

Or even providing some mechanism for ordering previously-stocked items online? I don’t need to try it on and will order many units/variations because I already know I love it. Seems like an easy way to make money. Low to no returns too.

lol sorry about that. Polyester definitely doesn’t have that effect on me and unlike cotton, 100% polyester is pretty much unaffected by wash + dry cycles.

Cotton wears out stupidly quick in comparison.

So when buying off I’m interested i don’t even check sizes, I go straight for material. If it’s less than 70% polyester I won’t even consider buying it.

The apology is because stores do seem to be shifting towards folks like me. I love it.

Didn’t really state a position other than ownership, which does have some implications. I am fine with smart TVs but not ok with data collection and ads.

Either would only be ok if I had opted in, especially be paying a lower price with that tradeoff, but I and everyone else are paying full price, so I am adamantly opposed to it.

You took it a step further than me, and I applaud your efforts. I hope they are noted by the manufacturers.

I have recent LG TVs. They did start showing ads, but if you dig around in the menus you can disable them.

Not addressing your main points. Just wanted to point out you can have a smart home with purely local devices. No cloud.

Keeps carpal tunnel at bay. Well, helps but doesn’t totally prevent it by itself.

Last time I tried it, it choked on anything over a million files. Is it better now?
