Which demanding game? Also do you use any video editing software. I'm debating whether I can get by with a MBP 14 16 GB, 1 TB. I ordered an M3 Pro 18 GB, 1 TB. I could save $1000 and get the M1 version of they.
My use case will be 4K editing Premiere Pro, Baldur's Gate 3. Among other Office applications.
Wtf, Jan.. why would you waste your money on upgrading?? With your use case, your M1 MBP is more than fine.
In 6 months? No. But in a few years? Maybe. What Apple needs to do is heavily invest in gaming like they do for TV content. They need developers on board to be able to port games onto MacOS. There are some games that run well on Macs, but not many. The M3 series will be slightly better at running those games than M2 or M1 but not by much. I don't think there are any games that take advantage of ray tracing on the new Macs.
Man, no, wait for the M5 Max before you even think about upgrading.
