It encourages me to do more on the days I might not want to. So I suppose that is an improvement.

Yep..I totally get that! Way back before Apple Watches I wore a Polar heart rate monitor. One day near the end of my usual hard 30min on the step mill I looked at the watch and it had TIMED OUT….just dashes on the screen. It did NOT count the calories of the last 30 min I had just done so in my OCD brain all of that exercise and sweat didn’t happen. Soooooo what did I do????Yep, I did the whole thing again because the watch didn’t show the calories burned and I had to see it there or it didn’t happen. I told my husband what I did, because in my brain that was totally normal. He tried to gently explain that it wasn’t “normal” and that I had become obsessed. I wear the Apple Watch now and don’t have to worry about it timing out like the old Polar so I don’t have to do workouts twice anymore🤔😂
