how does it feel knowing that you looked like feces smearing toddlers to everyone else?

I imagine this was a lot of people's first reality check in a long ass time lmfao

I am really proud of myself for being consistent even if the protest ultimately didn't work. I detest social media that disrespects their user. Thats exactly why in the last 3 years i deleted my Instagram, Spapchat, Whatsapp and Twitter account.

And if some people see me as a "feces smearing toddler" then thats their problem. I like it here a lot better.

A little reality check for you, if you think people leaving a product because they don't like it means they are a "feces smearing toddler" then perhaps you should take a good long in the mirror and ask yourself when you became the asshole child.

If there are any "feces smearing toddlers" to be found, the preponderance of them are on Reddit. It's what you're trying to do here, and you're welcome to fuck right back off there.

I deleted my Facebook account years ago, no regrets. Deleted my Reddit account yesterday, no regrets. Not sure what OP's point is, but comparing people to toddlers when you are incapable of typing a complete sentence does not help you make it.

I don't have any regrets here. I vastly prefer the vibe of the fediverse. I feel like I can actually contribute and have people respond to me meaningfully.

I do think it was a "reality check", as you say, for some people that the exodus wouldn't completely bring reddit to its knees. It'll be a slow decline into irrelevancy that will take a longer amount of time as new mods become overwhelmed and give up, people slowly realize the content creators and commenters have moved on, etc. It could take years.

This is what u/spez looks like to many of us.

Actually, pretty good tbh. I deleted facebook, twitter, etc back in 2019, deleted google in 2022, and deleted reddit in 2023. Now i just use lemmy and mastodon for socials and i am glad i took those steps

I didn't announce my departure. I made a GDPR request and stopped using it a week or so before the protest. Haven't used it since and am perfectly happy with kbin.

Just because you can't live without it doesn't mean no one can. It's just a website.

I object to calling it a failed protest, it raised important awareness. Reddit turned in to a shallow mess slowly enough it was like being a boiling frog. Now we have the fediverse which I probably wouldn't have discovered otherwise and I've had more fun here than I've ever had on Reddit.

No. Staying on reddit would be lame.

trolls gunna troll people. dont feed the trolls

[–] Pratai@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 year ago

Hey look! A Redditor has come to shitpost! Must be a slow day in that shithole.

Why would anyone regret doing the right thing?
