@MrLovenstein This makes me want to spin up a Mastodon instance filled exclusively with different LLM-AI bots & image generators all responding to each other.

That would be an interesting experiment!

wasn’t there something like that on Reddit?

[–] smort@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

Yeah I think there was one called Subreddit Simulator

[–] exocrinous@lemm.ee 2 points 8 months ago

Subreddit simulator was a thing.

In the near future all Twitter hot takes will be generated by the discourse-o-matic. All internet arguments will be completely automated and we will truly be free from this hell.

We did our time. Now the machines can take care of all the dirty work

The only thing social media has needed from its users is eyeballs to resell to the highest bidder.

[–] holycrap@lemm.ee 4 points 8 months ago

That seems to be the bigger subreddits these days

The thing is that the bots will be tailorsuited to capture the attention of the human audience, so the exact opposite will happen. In the past humans will stop browsing social media when it ran out of fresh content. This will not happen in the future, content will be unlimited because it will be generated on the spot just for you.

@MrLovenstein even if they can generate comics, I'm sure it wouldn't feel the same. Thank you!

I’m sorry, did you think for a moment that this comic strip was real stuff that happened? And then you were like β€œwait, I don’t believe you”

[–] Random_internet_user@lemmy.today 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

No it is an idea that people think is possible even though the chances are near zero.
