Somewhat interesting fact, the two games were in development at the same time, but by different companies and they took the concept in totally different directions.
I do! Never finished it, but it had a great atmosphere. I still play the (excellent) soundtrack from time to time.
I prefered the adventure part of it, but I've always been amazed that the strategy part was there, as a harbinger of the RTS genre.
I liked the concept of the strategy gameplay, but it definitely bogged the game down.
The atmosphere was definitely the highlight though, so stylish.
Some of the voice lines live rent free in my head too. "Yahoo! We won the battle Maud'dib"
I played an old Dune windows game, but none on dos. I played a lot of Dune 2000 growing up on PS1 not knowing it was basically Dune 2 also.
