The Republican party has been brought and sold to Putin and are traitors to the constitution and the republic. They want what Russia is: a controlled mafia state with religious underpinnings.

The thing is, they're not nearly tough or smart enough to survive in that environment. If they manage to succeed, they'll instantly find themselves bum-rushed and overwhelmed, helplessly calling out for forces of order who are supposed to restore to them their rights.

Like all useful idiots, as fast as their sole value is used up (their vote I guess) they are purged.

Republicans have literally/figuratively weaponised zero sum theory. "Whatever is bad for my enemies (Democrats) is good for me!"

Nah. Part of that is true sure. But more importantly they are a bunch of fucking fascists and fascists help fascists. True since Hitler and Franco.

Trying to make everything as terrible as possible so they can blame Biden for it.

Not enough and it's BS. Hurts my head to think about the lies and corruption that are preventing massive support to defeat Putin.

Stay frosty. Stay safe.

idk but i wish nato can get more directly involved. proxy wars are difficult. i just want to pop in and let you know I'm republican and all for giving whatever is needed to defeat the Russians. this is the most important thing on the planet right now.

edit: can instead of cannot. i was autocorrected on probably the worst word it could pick to do so.

Even if that means voting for a democrat? Because the GOP in Washington certainly doesn't share your opinion even though we're glad to have you.

@Marduk73 @mozz It is not a proxy war. The war is between Russia and Ukraine. To call it a 'proxy war' is to insult 'Ukraine' and is only good for Russia.

[–] Marduk73@sh.itjust.works 4 points 8 months ago (1 children)

depends on your perspective. from a western power indirectly fighting Russia through donations, training, and equipment, this is 110% a proxy war. and the Ukrainians have proven they are made of tougher stuff than to be insulted by such a word.

@Marduk73
No. It does not depend on perspective. The war against Ukraine was started by Russia, and Russia and Ukraine are the only combatants. No matter that several western countries have supplied Ukraine with weapons and Iran and North Korea, Russia, your use of the term, 'Proxy War' is incorrect.
But keep using the term if you like the sound of it 👍
