What an odd thing to post. What an odd thing to say. I don't know where to start. I'm at a loss.
Tea
This is a British instance and we love our tea.

This is !tea@feddit.uk after all, so it fits, especially as !mugs@feddit.uk got deleted so we are picking up the tea drinking receptacle slack for now.
Sorry. :(
Shall I delete it?
No, but why can't you drink tea out of a mug you've drank coffee out of?
Oh I don't clean it. Maybe once a month but if I want to get it spotless I need to soak it in bleach overnight. So it's heavily crusted in coffee stains and dried coffee milk bits round the inside edge.
Yeah I'm aware it's gross but it's not killed me. It had stopped me from drinking tea though until I got this mug which is only allowed tea in it.
I had a colleague like this. He had a camping mug that he wouldn't clean - literally had an eighth of an inch of stains on the inside of it. A stainless steel cup with what looked like a void inside.
He loved it, too. So much so, that if you dared to clean it, the dude would go batshit crazy.
Never quite understood it myself, but you do you!
I don't wash my coffee mug too often, but only out of laziness. But I drink it black, not washing out cream and sugar sounds really gross.
you need more mugs. what if a friend comes over for tea.
I don't have friends.
Id say you have online friends and theyre real people! Even if its just us. I remember in covid lockdown everyone freaked out but i was fine because my some of my friends are just online people and it still meets social needs.
I'll be your friend! I love tea. I mostly drink Earl Grey and Chai, but I do love me some PG Tips on occasion. What kinds do you like?
Then treat yourself by having a few mugs for yourself. Also means you can leave one to soak in the sink and still have your tea. Makes cleaning them a lot easier as well. ASDA also sells iridescent glass mugs that are very pretty.
me neither. i assumed that was a very rare occurrence. my apologies.
wait, i know: it's "bring your own mug"
You wait your turn with the mug.
Any tea is better than no tea so enjoy!
Fun fact: US Navy seamen refer to their stained mug as βseasonedβ, because it starts clean at the beginning of their voyage and doesnβt get washed while they are deployed. The accumulated stain is a badge of honor showing the seaman is a seasoned sailor. Admittedly, they only use black coffee and having βmilk bitsβ on the rim is kind of gross.
How does ay mug get infused with coffee stains?
By never being washed.
That's disgusting. Old coffee grows bacteria and fungus happily.
I love mushrooms and I'm still alive. π
