As a not quite teenager I listened to his afternoon show religiously in the early 80s. Got myself an FM tuner for my HiFi a few months ago and had been listening to his pick of the pops on and off this year - he was definitely a radio DJ of a bygone age, but it was somewhat nostalgic hearing his voice again. Tragic to have gone seemingly so suddenly.

Wrighty had been part of my daily routine for so many years, I'm shocked! I can't believe he's gone.

I loved Steve Wright's afternoon show on Radio 1 back in the late 80s/early 90s. This song was my most favourite thing ever for quite a few weeks: https://youtu.be/3APmUsa5w3w?si=EAP6NbQXyJH_8nQG (amazingly, that seems to be on an official Mr Food channel, which I didn't know existed!)
