Meanwhile comments in another post are trying to put me down because she's a pitbull.

I cannot believe the ignorance and hatred on this site for pit bulls. Reddit was just as terrible. My most downvoted comments of all time have to do with pit bulls and breed stereotyping in general.

I've worked in the animal industries for decades and have a lot of first-hand experience with dogs, but all that means nothing in the eyes of people who would rather be afraid of stories they tell themselves. It's so disheartening.

Like imagine if you said the same thing about black people's crime rate. The whole problem with this is who's recording the statistics. It's nothing to do with genes.

Don't compare black people to dogs. Also dogs are selectively bred for their genes.

I'm comparing discrimination to discrimination. Crime stats are pushed by a broken system with bias. So are these dog statistics.

I got my old guy when he was already 10. He has been at the SPCA for almost a year by then and had been shuffled from place to place cause of his age. I’ve now had him for 3 years and he seems young as ever, mostly with the help of diet changes and modern vet medicine that keeps him outta pain.

I’m so glad for these kinds of advancements in animal medicine. Can’t believe I met my guy so late in his life and already feel a bit robbed of a decade of his life! Would love to see him stay happy and healthy for many more!

Soon we'll consider dogs like we do pet tortoises and certain parrots: They'll live so long they need to be included in inheritance.

Most dogs don't make it past 15 so that would be huge.
