I think it's a bug. Can't see it in the tracker so it might be worth reporting?

It's not a bug, per se, but it is counter intuitive. The setting changes the behavior of the Home link in the top bar, not the actual contents of the root path.
Should definitely file a feature request. I may even take a look myself and see how much of a PITA it would be to change.
I tend to agree that the main link should show the same as our /sub (bug or not). It would also be nice to have the same functionality of the current home page just in case I want to browse outside my subs without changing settings. Maybe a /all or something? Unless something like this already exists, but I couldn't find it.
@rinze Click on your username in the top-right, then "settings." At the very top, set your home page to "subscriptions."
Mine is set as subscription, and every time I come here, it continues to show All
Yep, that's how I have it, but still, it doesn't seem to work.
Also, I have enabled notifications, but I'm not getting anything. Where do they go?
Edit: Ok, I've seen the notifications page, but it's empty for me.
Yeah same. The notifications only worked when i just registered.
Notifications are running about a day behind. I've just had a load of my posts federated to Mastodon after two days. The server is overloaded, have patience.
