That's a big loss for rugby union. You can see why he's done it, though, given the state of the business-side of the game.

IPP players for the NFL this season will supposedly get paid $200,000 for 18 weeks of training camp

These guys never make it in the NFL. It's not the same game.

It's too hard to be good at a game late. If he went at 17 maybe.

Still will be worth it for him for the paycheck.

Plus he if he doesn't make it contact will be minimal. Good gap year for the lad. Hope he makes it, but if he doesn't Hope he's back for thr next world cup.

I'm going to blame the WRU for this.

Wild. Saw the headline and read it as NRL and figured it made sense, since not everyone can go to the top 14. Should be a fun year away for him.

What do we think he was on at Glocs ? 150k / year ? I have no idea .

Around there, but a little bit higher, probably. Only the very top players break the £200k mark, and older players are generally better paid. LRZ is young, but very good, so he might've been on £170k or so but probably not much more than that.
