I love this song! I was relatively young in the 70s and I never paid attention to the names of the bands from the radio. Was surprised when fairly recently I found out I'm a huge Supertramp fan, with Take the Long Way Home being my most memorable song from that time. Thanks for posting!

They're one of those bands where I love the few songs I've heard, but have never gone out of my way to check out their catalogue. What album should I listen to?

To be honest their 2007 Retrospectacle "Greatest Hits" collection is a really nice entrypoint. They are a band who were around for a little while and their sound changed. The first disk is their older stuff which has a softer jazzier balladic feel and the 2nd disk is more pop-rock/yacht-rock and is where you'll find The Logical Song and some other classics like Breakfast in America, Long Way Home and Goodbye Stranger.

Breakfast in America is a must listen, and I really love Crime of the Century as well, especially Dreamer.

Also highly recommend Paris, 1980 live album that covers a lot of ground and they sound great.
