I don't but now you got me thinking :-D

It can be extremely satisfying, especially when you get the exact shade.

I’ve got the pen in the middle and I find sniffing the inside of the barrel extremely satisfying :-)

Which pen is that one in the middle? Looks beautiful!

It looks like Platinum 3776 Celluloid. At least mine is. It’s made of celluloid and smells nicely (of camphor).

Camphor is a good smell. I think some celluloid pens smell better than others, tbh. I have had… mixed results, lol.

It's actually a PenBBS 308 ;)

I think it looks similar: https://imgur.com/a/afZteve :-) no idea how they would look next to each other.

It really does!

I rotate my pens and inks randomly.

[–] wfh@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I actually should do this. I need more pens to use my inks and more inks to match my pens...

If we're not careful, it will be an infinite loop. Hahaha!

[–] CosmicMiso@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I used to do this, but I am drowning in way too many inks now to color match all the time lol

I often match maroon ink to maroon pen. Otherwise, I do it less often than I used to as I'm mainly using permanent inks now (not as many available colors).
