3 tiers:

  • 16, 16 and 32 teams.

Only 2 teams relegated/promoted between the tiers.

20 teams changed in the bottom tier every year based on Domestic League performance.

so they call it "Open competition"

lol, they really are pretending hard that the competition is open, 2 relegation and promotion between the tiers, it takes a club 3 abysmal years in a row to be eliminated from the competition and 3 amazing years in a row to get into the top league.

Imagine that, Aston Villa wins the PL and they qualify to the equivalent of the COnfrerence league, while 12th placed chelsea competes at the top.

How will that work with the domestic league schedule and other tournments. There's not a spot for 14-17 more games.

This is supposed to replace UEFA competitions, so CL, EL, ECL

But dont think anything will come of it, German clubs are out, PL already introduced stuff against this and Uk goverment came out and said they will block it with legislation.

I don't like this format, it's not much difference from what we have now, it's just adds a table for all teams, which they will fight for top spots. The last years it's more about money, and it becomes more and more the main drive for soccer, just sad.

there is a big difference in that established team have a very hard time losing their place, as I wrote in the body of the post a team like chelsea would be in the upper two tiers, regardless of how bad they do in the PL
