Yeah, it was the beginning of the end: bought out and moved the team from Amsterdam to Canada.
They have failed to fix many long-standing bugs and released controversial paid cosmetics.
It's quite sad to see this game die, I've been playing Insurgency since it was a Half-Life mod and have sunken hundreds of hours in it. I hope the original devs find a place where they can launch a game with the same heart.
ive played 2014 extensively, so sad they abandoned it without much care for the community
Technically it isn't abandoned, they are dropping the developer. Most of the development has already been picked up by Saber for some time now.
They drove off the co-creator, many devs, voice-lead and many of the OGs since the purchase. Writing was on the wall and it saddens me quite a bit.
