Is it better graphics, or just an excuse to replay a classic?

I never bought into any remakes, which ones are actually worth it and why?

I mean the Resident Evil remakes are vastly superior to their originals on a technical level. No more dodgy tank controls with better graphics and even some upgraded aspects to the stories. Like Resident Evil 2002 readding a whole (and great) subplot cut from the og game.
