Chrome is a piece of shit anyway, do yourself a favor and use a different browser.

Firefox is one of the few non-chromium-based browsers left. Thank goodness they held out when everybody else jumped ship (looking at you, Opera). It’s time to give them a download.

The internet should be freedom, and Firefox knows it.

The non-chromium based browser are:

  • Firefox (Gecko)
  • Ladybird (LibWeb + LibJS)
  • Safari (Webkit)

Mozilla has been trying their hardest to get rid of their userbase in the past. So let's see if hold the new users.

Google is an evil company now. Just stop using chrome. YouTube is the last good thing, but it's only good because of the creators- the app itself is pretty terrible.

If YouTube could remove YouTube Music from their subscription plan so that i could maybe pay 3$ instead of 11$ i would gladly do it.

I have revealed my next step in war on google, by ignoring it and switch to firefox

[–] itsthreeamyo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Firefox is there to keep all those ex-chrome users warm and fed.

[–] marvelmon@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This won't affect my rasberry PI running pi-hole DNS server.

[–] die-microcrap-die@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Have been using Firefox since its Phoenix days.

Never cared or liked Chrome, but certain sites and companies force you to use it (looking at you Avid).

Also a shame that MS based Edge on Chromium instead of FF.

Never had any issues with Firefox. Maybe the drones will finally start using it now.

In other news, I give it 2 weeks until vivaldi and opera to have their own addon store.

Now on brave and seems like they will be unaffected

[–] fridgehawk@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Just don't use Chrome, problem solved 😁 Firefox OG here 🤓

[–] WingedBunny1@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Glad Im using Firefox for basically as long as it exists. Always hated chrome, even switched to Firefox on my phone a few years ago.

[–] Bk_ADV@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Just stop me from watching youtube. im begging you.

[–] Boxing888@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I’m getting tired of this internet control…. It’s like are we evolving backwards in time??

[–] Odd-Bus9202@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It's almost like Alphabet WANTS to go bankrupt. They receive plenty by farming personal information of Chrome users. This will just drive the power users, who give them the most money via this data, to other browsers. Brilliant!

[–] Marokiii@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

they really either want me to switch browsers or for me to go outside more.

[–] Pikeman212a6c@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Firefox just sitting there waiting for people to notice it’s not 2007 anymore.

[–] stogie-bear@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This is what you get when your browser is from the same company that sells the ads. Ditch chrome.

[–] Fartoholicanon@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Laughing in YouTube revanced.

[–] Matild4@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Never used Chrome.
But go ahead and keep ruining it.

[–] maratnugmanov@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I haven't used Chrome for a couple of years now and was a very active user of it before it became an internet explorer basically - with all the unnecessary stuff I don't even know I needed or not.

It was a very good browser back in the days when Edge was using its own engine.

[–] MechCADdie@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It's almost like oike they hired an MBA from a failing company like Burger King to manage their revenue. Instead of attacking ad blockers, they should be investing into non intrusive ad psychology research.

[–] noSoRandomGuy@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Stop using Chrome. Microsoft did it with IE, Google is doing it with chrome.

And that is precisely why I moved on from Chrome a while back. Having the company that makes your browser also in charge of your searches and entertainment is a little... Risky.

[–] Hikashuri@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Google is being taken to court by quite a few groups for this and the EU has taken interest in the outcome of that lawsuit. So it’s likely that the EU will get involved.

[–] GardenPeep@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

... and all they would need to do is serve up static ads that don't blink and jump around and yell at you. Then I wouldn't need to block them. (I don't cover up ads in magazines, often I even study them.)

[–] BamBamVonSlammerson@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Anyone who's still using Chrome at this point seriously needs their head examined. Switching to Firefox is so easy and makes more sense on every single level.

[–] EratosyT@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I would really love to ship to another platform like YouTube, All we need is a competitor which is not shit like YouTube.... I also find it extremely frustrating that they literally noticeably slowed down it in other non chromium based browser like Firefox.

[–] External_Rip_7117@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago

Next up, if YouTube detects that you are using an ad blocker instead of showing you the video it shows you one man one jar

[–] heyspencerb@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago

Guys… they have every right to stop ad blockers. Do you actually think the internet is free? Internet services are extremely expensive, and ad block is piracy. If it upsets you so much, pay for YouTube premium.

[–] RaccoonDu@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago

Brave has a built in adblocker, I'll go back to Firefox if brave stops working

[–] Abstract_Waves@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago

How about Brave browser as an alternative?

[–] --Arete@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago

Since Firefox has a ≈3% market share YouTube could just suddenly block Firefox users. I bet that's a loss they are willing to take.

[–] SameRepair7308@alien.top 0 points 1 year ago

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Brave browser. Especially on ios
