yall realize ref blew that play dead well before Grealish makes his run. You can see he blows the whistle as soon as Haaland is going backwards. He then has to blow it again once the ball is played which makes it look worse than it was

NGL Mateball is very fun to watch

[–] dreadnough7@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

The result suits the club I support; but dear god, seeing another stunningly stupid call by Simon Hooper in Spurs' favor really annoyed me.

[–] bmoviescreamqueen@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

That was quite the match from an outsider's perspective, it got even better when the crowd got into it.

Arsenal fans celebrating as if they won the league, forgetting they bottled like a 10 point lead last year.

Why do you do it to yourselves ? Why do you allow your hopes to go so high and get clowned on when city go above you again?

Remember when everyone was shitting on Tottenham for winning the league in October?

I fucking love you Tottenham Hotspur

[–] longconsilver13@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Just a very funny ending

[–] ElectricalMud2850@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

How on earth did he blow the whistle as soon as the ball went into the air on that advantage, lmao. What a fucking match, had everything right down to the final whistle.

That's genuinely an insane result for spurs with that back line.

[–] ziti6969@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Lmao ref played the advantage then right as Grealish was in behind he takes it away. Insanity. It’s like the refs are absolutely hellbent on fucking up decisions. Awesome game nonetheless

[–] Alecccc@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Ref bad decision for City: I do not speak

[–] SailorsGraves@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

That’s fucking abysmal from the ref at the end there

[–] mojambowhatisthescen@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

one of the most watchable halves of football gets played

The ref: “lemme just make this about myself!”

[–] LiamJonsano@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

So sloppy from City not to make this a big win, let Spurs in twice in the second half when if City had kept going like they had in the first they’d have been out of sight

[–] Yedin07@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

12 points for city in their last 8 games, its not looking good blud

[–] geolink@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Maddison would have a field day here.

[–] Muxkitto@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Least insane City x Spurs game

[–] lokikungfu@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

ANGE BALL IS HERE TO STAY!!

[–] MockTurtleSean@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I really don’t like City, but Spurs REALLY don’t like City

[–] ibrahimims@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

When the ref played the advantage on i was like “amazing call” until he ruined it 180 degrees for no reason

[–] rekt73@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

What a game as a neutral

Equalising 3 goals against City at home is insane btw, with so many injuries

PGMOL displaying ~~Occams~~ Hanlon's Razor in full strength week in week out, it's really just incompetence not malice as you can see in the last minute call lmao

[–] Arcint@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Get Hooper out of football

[–] fuk_offe@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Bissouma, what an idiot, trying to 1v3 in the press...

[–] IICastawayII@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

City always do this, no? Laze around in the first half of the season, then go ballistic in the second half.

[–] FuckWesternCountry@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I really wan City to loose point but fuck Simon Hooper what a fucking twat.

[–] mynamemeimme@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Funniest part is Akanji tries diving at the end as if to say make it fair ref go on

[–] supplementarytables@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Haaland is gonna hit someone lol

[–] a_guy_named_gai@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Haaland was fuming

[–] pliqtro@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Wtf was that clearly denied 1-on-1 Grealish run?

[–] punching-bag9018@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

How was Gvardiol not off the pitch?

[–] etched_chaos@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

3-3 and we had all our centre-backs unavailable, gotta love it.

[–] redditisshitaf@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

State of refereeing this season. Can tell every ref is bricking it each game.

[–] sjekky@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Who's the best team City have beat this season? Brighton? Leipzig? Newcastle?

Feels like they're sleepwalking more than a little bit. Anfield, St. James' and White Hart Lane to visit in the second half of the season. And it feels like Arsenal will be a little bit more serious as title contenders this season.

Another amazing result for Ange. Look at the state of that team Spurs have put out. Brilliant stuff.

[–] Chell_the_assassin@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

City could be on a 10 season unbeaten streak playing against a Spurs side that had been relegated to League One and I'd still fancy Spurs to get a result tbh

[–] Swivs@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Wtf was that advantage decision at the end holy shit

[–] Porsche_919@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

If Haaland doesn't get suspended for physically attacking the ref I'll be shocked

[–] -LiverpoolFC@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

city bottled it lmaoo - they have 4 fullbacks on the field

[–] tenacious-g@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Horrible from the ref on the advantage there, but it’s fucking insane not a single player got a card for dissent there. Haaland is still going on about it.

Edit: Haaland did get one, but at least Grealish should’ve for going on about it to the assistant referee

[–] WaveDysfunction@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Great result for us but Actually disgraceful referring at the end, I would like to know what the fuck the thought process was for pulling it back for a foul after Grealish was through on goal

[–] dispelthemyth@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Haaland should have seen red for handling the ref when complaining about the lack of advantage.

[–] YonkoSN@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

The call at the end 😭😭

[–] normott@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

How have Man City become this leaky defensively? Wild.

[–] Tokugawa@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

As a former ref, I always hated when I made a mistake like that advantage call. He can't stand by that decision. He has to own up it, surely?

[–] bucajack@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Ref fucked that up but City only really have themselves to blame here. Spurs should never have been able to come back into that game.

[–] -LiverpoolFC@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

what a matchday - all time great

[–] Acceptable_Ad_6278@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Every year I tuned out before the match was over because I thought surely Spurs wouldn't do it again this time and every year I am proven wrong.

[–] FistThePooper6969@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Kulu is such a machine, never stops

[–] 2407Chris@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I feel PL is really just popular because of shocking refs

[–] cbuturk@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

lose vs 3 easier teams and take points of City

literally perfect for Arsenal and Liverpool lmao
