There's this obscure 2016 movie named Assassin's Creed with Michael Fassbender in lead. I think the games are based on the movie.

Only the movie took 9+ years to shoot while the games were developing at pancake speed !
I'm just gonna say it. The Spongebob movie game was a BANGERRRRR
RoboCop: Rogue City. Captures the essence of the Verhoeven films, fills in a lot of gaps between 2 and 3 (especially about how the old man is absent in 3), and it has multiple endings.
Kingsglaive (the awesome “final fantasy 15 prelude” movie that was even better than the majority of the game, a must-watch for fans of fantasy-action)
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (excellent movie based on the game)
I've heard the online Matrix game was pretty good.
LEGO Avengers
LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 and Years 5-7, also there’s Harry Potter games that aren’t LEGO.
Spider-Man trilogy
Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay was really fucking good. And freaky as shit. Played it when I was like 10. Somehow I also ended up watching the movies and loved them. Surprised there wasn't more.
I really had a blast playing The Godfather. I loved how you became a part of the movies as your own character.
Batmam, arkham asylum VR
The game messes with your mind and is really well made.
However, it is really short, so feels like an extremely well made demo.
Mad Max.
"Spider-man 3 on ps3"
...said no one ever
LOTR Two Towers and Return of the King
Yessss PS2 version
Surprised no one seems to have mentioned Guardians of the galaxy from what I've seen. That's a great game, solid VA and gorgeous graphics, gameplay is smooth although a little basic ,but gets away with it because it's a narratively driven game.
GoldenEye is a good shout, for the time it was amazing, probably in the top 3 best titles for the N64.
Alien Isolation is also a good shout by some comments, it really captures that feeling of being prey and at the mercy of your own wit to a large degree. Great atmosphere.
Mad Max is decent, just solid fun gameplay.
I hesitated to say Guardians because it's based off of comic books, but so are a lot of other comments here as well, so I'm going for it.
Have you guys played the PS2 game based on the OG Spongebob Movie. It was a peak game honestly.
The Godfather and I really can't think of one that's even close.
The gameplay loop is addicting as all hell, and playing as a character who wasn't in the source material and seeing the story unfold from his perspective was genius.
I might have to say X Men Original Wolverine. Just because it’s amazing how fun the game was vs how fucking awful the movie was.
If not for that I’d have to say Spider Man 2 which i played endlessly for the swinging
All the Lego games
The new robo cop
King kong, lord of the rings two towers, lord of the rings return of the king, scarface the world is yours
Lego skywalker saga
Spiderman 2 on the PS2. Its on its own level.
The old godfather games were pretty cool. Wouldn't say they were the best but I highly recommend them.
Scott Pilgrim vs the world the game
"Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" for the Gameboy Advance
E.T on Atari.
Peter Jacksons King Kong for ps2
Scarface: The World is Yours
The Mad Max game was pretty good imo. A little repetetive but not too repetitive.
Aliens The Dark Descent
The avatar game is looking very good.
