Oh my god he just ran in
Repeating, of course.
I never got this. It always felt like an inside joke, but people who weren’t even in on it were like “this is the funniest thing ever.”
I think you have to have played (or at least watched someone play) an MMORPG before, where big groups go and attack one monster. It's usually really well coordinated, where everyone has a role and needs to be careful with their timing. The big monsters don't appear often, so just completely sabotaging an attempt like this is both incredibly frustrating and also really relatable. Especially at lower levels, there's always one person in the group who just doesn't understand how the whole thing works.
Though this (Leroy Jenkins) was apparently fake and just a joke.
What’s funny is that the pretense for this meme doesn’t even make any sense.
The room they were about to enter doesn’t really have an appeal other than being a stepping stone to get to the big dog boss that’s right after this. Also, calculating the probability of success for a run in the way that one of the party members (“.33, repeating of course”) wasn’t a real thing people did in the game.
Triggering the whelps like that was definitely a a-hole move, though. Hilarious.
No I get all that, it’s just that most people I knew that thought it was funny had never played WoW or any other similar game, so I don’t understand what they were getting out of it.
You don't need to understand the nuances of WoW to find this hilarious
Huh. Maybe it’s just not funny.
You're just too close to it I guess. I find it hilarious.
