What happened to the 1v1 competitive scene? (alien.top)

I have always prefered 1v1 games to 5v5 or any other team sizes. I started by playing Rocket League and have since moved onto fighting games like Brawlhalla, Mordhau and Chiv 2. However the genre is clearly not supported as much as the team based competitve scene.

Street fighter VI came out recently and with a resurgence of popularity I wanted to find some other games in the 1v1 genre to try out ( doesn't have to be fighting games ).

So what are your guys reccomendations for some good competitive games to get into?
