Jude Bellingham has taken Real Madrid and World Football by a storm right now!

He's gathered 15 goals + 4 assists in just 16 games for Real Madrid breaking the records of Puskas, Di Stefano and Ronaldo himself. All of this while just recently turning 20 years old, with his entire career ahead of him.

What he's doing is unheard of, perhaps only Ronaldo Fenomenon himself had a better start to the season than him as a 20 years old.

The differentiator however is his impact in the game, he's truly bossing the free role at Madrid contrubuting in goals, assists, key passes, dribbles, crosses, headers, flicks, finishing, playmaking, 1-2 passing, off ball movements, interceptions, tackles, positioning, strength, dominating, work rate and even leadership.. There is truly nothing that this boy can't do!

I genuinely cannot point a single weakness in his game right now, he's top of the charts for almost all attributes since the start of the season. So these achievements so far in the season brings the question, What is his ceiling as a footballer provided he continues this streak? Generational? All-Timer? GOAT candidate?

Greatest english player of all time if he stays injury free and consistent

[–] Babette-V@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Bit of a push.

He's at the right club but decades of watching has taught me there is no guarantee of progressions football isn't linear 🤷 it only takes an ACL injury for a career set back

[–] carbust20@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (4 children)

It’s hard to think he’s gonna get better. He’s already crazy good. It’s consistency that’ll really make him great. Nobody expects the scoring to continue because it’s crazy but he’s the type to have a good game without having to score so he’ll be just fine when the scoring slows down.

[–] MarahSalamanca@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Actually I do expect the scoring to continue as long as he plays in those positions.

He has great finishing, his goal scoring ratio this season is not luck.

If Madrid signs a true 9 and see that the team plays better with Bellingham on the center of the pitch, then yeah he’s not going to score as often

But this season? I’d bet he’s going to destroy Lampard’s record.

[–] Twiggie19@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Ye in terms of short term form this is as good as it will ever get for him. Outscoring the greatest goalscorer or all time... From midfield.

The question is what can he do long term.

[–] ProtoplanetaryNebula@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I didn't expect him to score this many and I don't think anyone else did either. He wasn't brought to RM to be one of their main goalscorers, this kind of happened by accident. I can see him maybe getting 20+ goals per season on a regular basis over the next 8 years or so, but probably quite a few less if they bring in an elite striker like Mbappé, who would need to be getting on the end of most goals.

[–] Formal_Ad2091@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Who else was going to score the goals for them though? Not exactly got world class forwards do they apart from maybe Vini who is overrated by the media.

Yeah it’s the consistency AND the moments that will dictate his legacy for me. He doesn’t need to keep up this level of scoring but if he shows up in a major way in int. tournaments and CL KOs then sky is the limit.

[–] lordnacho666@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (3 children)

Dude IS the ceiling. If he doesn't get injured, he's a GOAT candidate. If he does get injured, he'll still be a generational talent, assuming it's not too soon. "Injured" includes both physical and other issues of course, who knows if he decides to burn down his house with fireworks or crashes his fancy car.

[–] PersonKool@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

There can be drops in form without injuries. I'm not saying it is, but it could just be a purple patch we're witnessing. Let him finish a season first

[–] nedelll@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

GOAT candidate wtf lol

[–] Flailingtittys@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Generational means once in a generation(or least it used to be) reserved for that special player who comes along once every 20 years or so. Pele, MAradonna, R9, Messi. People said Mbappe was this generations generational talent. Then it was Haaland and now its Jude hmmm. I think that word has just about lost all meaning

[–] Appropriate_Elk_6113@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

The most complete player of all time?

If he can keep up the scoring I dont think there's ever been a player as complete and versatile as him. So many "complete" players cant defend for shit

[–] Yesyesnaaooo@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

He's playing like Gerrard would have had he gone to Madrid at his peak and played with the best all around him.

[–] Budget_Asparagus_776@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Real Madrid fans are panicking for Jude, guys enjoy this spell if it ends today or tomorrow, at least you would have enjoyed it until it lasted. Stop think negatively

[–] Impossible-Cow-2109@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Just hope that he dont get injured. He is the most likely to be one of the best in his generation. But be like cristiano or messi, its too early to say.

[–] LocalSubstantial7744@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

The ceiling is the roof

[–] HANAEMILK@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I think he has a chance to be the greatest midfielder ever.

[–] TheCulturalBomb@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (6 children)

Does England have the current best (on form) attacker and midfielder in the world?

[–] throwaway1337h4XX@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

It's ok we have an actual spoon for a manager so it'll go nowhere.

Saka and Foden have also been very good lately. Unfortunately Southgate's dumb decisions will probably lead them to another disappointment this summer.

[–] Wonderful_Emu_9610@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Yes

But we only have one top class CB, our best DM and part of our ideal midfield (Phillips, Rice, Bellingham) never plays for his club and we have no depth in any central positions - just plenty of full backs and wide forwards.

Gerrard, Lampard, Terry and so on, even Kane and Saka now, were/are all incredible players, but I've been desperate for an English player to really burst through and get into Balon Dor contention, 200 million transfer to Madrid level for ages. It was supposed to be Joe Cole back when he was 15 in the 1990s. It's so exciting to see what Bellingham is doing.

[–] Flailingtittys@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

Bro you had one. His name was Rooney. At 18 he looked dead cert to be in contention for baloon doors. Potential is a funny thing. Rooney had 1 world class season in a long career. Who would have thought that back in 2004?

[–] jamesc94j@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (2 children)

I mean he often gets forgotten but Micheal owen was this level before injuries like ballon d’or worthy level hence he won one.

[–] JamesSunderland1973@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Rooney's a great example, he, Ronaldo, Messi, even Modric, would have all been around at the same time back in 2004-2006 but CR7 and Messi pushed on to 55 goals in 55 matches seasons, multiple balon dor superstar status, Rooney hovered around a 8/10 elite level player. Don't get me wrong, Rooney had an incredible career, but it's the difference between being in the top 5 players of all time or being like 47th.

At the moment Bellingham is potentially on a top 10 goat trajectory, which is so exciting.

Funnily enough, Owen himself has come out today or yesterday and said he never really was the best player even when he won that. Zidane, Kaka, Shevchenko, Brazilian Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, even Kahn, for me from the early 2000s. Shearer was better than Owen.

I certainly remember when Owen was on a trajectory to annihilate England's record goalscorer target though, before it all soured.

Injury free and Consistent?

If he manages that then he's Messi and Ronaldo combined.

[–] TheBarnacle63@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (3 children)

Depends on who surrounding him. This is a team game. Any of you who watch Dortmund like I do would not have predicted this kind of production. Even when he was at Dortmund, he played with Haaland, Sancho, and Reus, but did not play at this level.

So, what changed? He moved to Madrid where every player is elite. Even the manager is elite who knows how to manage elite players. I predict his status will rise and fall along with the status of Real Madrid.

He’s a creative midfielder with an incredibly level head under stress who could and should be the core of the England national team for a decade or more.

Unfortunately I fear that England managers will do unto him what they did to Glenn Hoddle in the 1980s.

[–] Accurate_Bed1021@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

And then Glenn Hoddle returned the favour and threw Beckham under the bus.

GOAT candidate for sure, he scores a lot because of the current tactics of madrid, he almost plays like a transitional striker that makes runs from the centre and creates too while playing amf in 4312 diamond on paper, even if madrid signs a striker and switch to their usual 433 from next season, I'm sure he'll continue to deliver but more from a creative side

Now hear me out

Bellingham currently is good yes and scores a lot of goals, but the moment the goals start slowing down and Madrid start losing games, that's when we know the ceiling

Because right now we might be witnessing his prime and he will never get back to it

Or he could become a Madrid legend like Zidane, again who knows

[–] beeftoemagoo@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

This man is a future glasgow rangers captain.

He loves the rangers and ibrox.

The bears love him.

[–] Mrjuicyaf@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

He gets injured and goes to the list of biggest what ifs

[–] Darth_Krise@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

If his current form continues & he helps Madrid win the UCL or England do very well in the Euros I could see him up there for the Ballon D’or next year

[–] bgause@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

At this point, he looks to be a generational talent who could become an all-time great. If everything goes well and he avoids injuries, I mean. He'll need to win a World Cup to be really considered an all-time great, I think...and he's not going to be a GOAT candidate unless he contributes heavily to a World Cup win and multiple Champions League titles. It would certainly help his case to stay at Real Madrid as long as possible, and stay out of England, where the press will rip him to shreds and destroy his legacy, whatever he does...that's his key to greatness, I think.

[–] Necessary-Match-4001@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I think his ceiling will be All-Timer if he continues playing like this, but it's really rare for someone in this generation to enter the likes of Messi,CR7 and Pele (mbappe is the only one that's close).

I worry what the British press will do to him. They find everyone's weakness eventually. I understand the Spanish press has its moments as well. But if you're playing well for Real, you will get strong support from at least one section of the Spanish media.

For me, weathering the inevitable bad press event is Jude's greatest challenge over the next 5 years.

[–] dorting@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

One season is not enough, a lot can depend on Carlo Ancelotti's playstyle

[–] freebaconcheesburger@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

While I agree with everything you said, as a Madridista, the reason he scores so much is because we don't have a proper striker. If you watched yesterday's game for example, both Rodrygo and Brahim go wide for most of the game, so Bellingham sometimes is an attacking mid, sometimes is a false 9 and when defending he is our 3rd CM.

If Real Madrid sign an actual striker up front (I don't want Mbappe, but maybe Osimhen?) he is going to occupy that space, so Bellingham will eventually drop deeper.

[–] ditto_0@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I think a lot of people are gonna switch up on him when Madrid finally get their striker and he stop scoring as much as he's doing with this system

He is an amazing player without the goals (MVP of the German league with 19 years and without much goals).

If he is healthy; he is a hard working player, with the right mindset, all will depend on his team partners and the trophies he win.

Goat talk already 😂 gimme 10 years performance that matches this season then we are talking. There are many factors that this output is not sustainable there were lots of greats in the past that succumbed to injuries or other ailments that couldn't sustain the test of time. He is definitely in the best form that you can ask for any club may the god of football be with you
