A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

Hey all, I run a video production business and I occasionally tackle photography work here and there. I have a client that’s interested in taking pictures of his IT consultation group to “capture the company culture” and it seems like they want quite a bit. I usually price my videography work based on my day rate, pre/post work, and equipment (if necessary) but I’m struggling to come up with a good quote for this client.

Here is everything they want:

• If needed, consider models. Make sure they're diverse. Men, women, etc. Ask photographer. They sometimes have access to them. • Take more photos than you think you need. We will be using these across multiple applications. • Apart from the portrait headshots, I would like to see more landscape photos. Since they're mostly needed for the website • Consider playing around with various angles. For example, a few shots from up high to make it interesting (see PDF). • Teamwork, staff, team culture, team building • Action shots in team meetings, support calls, consulting, help desk, etc. • Props focusing less on people and more on physical elements • Office shots including suite door, exterior, etc. • Individual headshots

All feedback is appreciated! Thanks.

For how problematic and how big of a pain in the ass that client is going to be to work with I’d quote something like double the day rate and just see if they’ll pay it. Kind of a win win, you either make out on the income or don’t have to deal with a nightmare job.
