I recently got myself an iPhone 15 Pro, coming from the 14 Pro Max. I love how light and portable the phone is, with addition to USB-C, Action Button, 8GBs of Ram, and Good Camera.

Besides the good stuff, I feel that we have hit a slow incline of improvements and excitement starting from the iPhone 6, IMHO.

I upgrade every year based on my undying love with tech, so that might be why I feel underwhelmed, but I just don't feel that we can ever hit that WOW factor anymore.

My first excitement was upgrading from the iPhone 3GS to 5. That was huge. And then as time goes, I lost that excitement factor as I upgrade from the 6 to 7, 8 Plus to 13 Pro, 14 PM to 15 Pro.

I may be going crazy, but I was thinking of returning my iPhone 15 Pro and get the iPhone 13 or 14 regular and wait for whenever the iPhone gets a major overhaul with its hardware. That way I can get that feeling of excitement again.

Am I the only one who is thinking this? Besides that, I am very happy with my iPhone 15 Pro, just not as excited as I was anymore.

What’s the point of returning now? You’ve already paid for it and you’ll just be spending more unnecessary money. Just keep it and upgrade when you feel like you need to.

Well you had a 14 pro max.. why did you update? It has only been one year they can not surprise you every year with huge improvements

The “wow” factor is behind us. Market is mature now. Keep your phone for 5 years and upgrade. And even then it’s probably not gonna be “wow” unless there is some major new thing coming. Improvements yeah, but I kinda doubt that it’s gonna be “wow”. My iPhone XS was released 5 years ago and although new phones are much better in all domains, I’m pretty sure that if I upgrade it’s not really gonna be a “wow” effect

I just want my snappy keyboard back it is very laggy still and also I want them to fix the Wi-Fi band issues

Another thing you can take into account is:it’s not the phone itself,it’s Yourself,as you get older, you might think differently like when you were a kid, being to the playground is a big thing ,and do you feel the same now?3gs -15pro,how many years?you think more logically and just admit it:YOU ARE GETTING OLD🤣

I’m the same way. Upgrade every year because I love tech and thankfully can do so, but I feel smartphones have peaked. I have the 15 Pro as well and I think I’m good for 2-3 years now. There’s just no justification on a yearly cycle anymore. How much faster can the phone get? How better can the camera get? It’s overkill.

People say this every year after the new iPhones come out.

I’m looking forward to one of those mobile devices that can project screens into the air and be fully useable. A device that can write my thoughts without having to type into the screen, preferably controllable through my mind too

Just use Siri or speech to text if you’re that lazy lmao.

Get the mini, it's a breath of fresh air, rocked the 12 mini, and now the 13 mini. It's liberating AF.

I used to be a yearly upgrader too. I think my iPhone X and then 12 mini were my first multi-year phones. Currently have a 14 Pro right now. Other than the battery life starting to suffer a bit, it still works like a champ.

I think the only thing at the moment that can get me to upgrade is if the iPhone ever offers proper external display and stage manager support. I think I might even sell my MacBook then too and use my iPhone as my only device. I'd probably also get something like a NexDock to use it as a laptop as well. One device for everything is my digital dream, anyway.

I'd say keep your 15 Pro as long as you can. Next year, even the year after probably won't be significant upgrades. Maybe change out your phone case (if you use one), customize it with a MagSafe wallet (or something else), rearrange your Home Screen, anything to keep it interesting and fresh. A slightly faster processor, maybe a better camera won't really do anything for you at the software level. Arguably, USB-C is worth the upgrade for some people - I'd partially benefit from it, but I have so many other lightning accessories, in addition to my wife's iPhone and accessories, I'd have to carry around two cables for a while anyway.

Keep it. You already paid for it. Dont buy another one for 3-5 years. Don’t give in to the hype. I just went from a X to a 14. Big boost in performance and battery life.

You don’t need to upgrade every year anymore.

You never had to :D

[–] CactusTheHighest@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

went from 8plus to 15pro. Never really needed a reason to upgrade every year. People just be giving in to the hype when they buy yearly

Went from 11 Pro to 15 Pro, barely noticed any difference despite form factor and weight 🥲
