Hollow knight. Hard as FUCK, death mechanic fucking sucks, story is almost impossible to follow, but my god is it a wonderful game. Beautiful art style, snare tight controls, the definition of metroidvania, and addicting as hell because I just can’t put it down but can’t help but rage quit it every time I play
Factorio
I wouldn't call it anywhere near a perfect game, but I've been routinely sucked into ToTK for much longer than I ever expect to play going on about 2 months.
Grounded. Terraria. Red Dead Redemption II. (I'm aware that I'm all over the damn map)
Sekiro, Bloodborne, and Diablo 2
Perfect gameplay/combat, atmosphere/weapons, and character progression/itemisation respectively.
The first Guild Wars trilogy. I don’t play all the time but I’ll always go back to it and just nonstop play for a week.
Civilization 6
Diablo 2 LOD /Resurrected
In Death: Unchained
Can I hear a Rock N Stone?!?
#RedDeadRedemption2
The Witcher 3
Heroes of Might and Magic 3. My dad and I have been playing it together for over 20 years.
Looking at my steam library and not picking anything.
Overwatch
Elden Ring
Star Craft 2 but just the coop mode
I love NMS but every time I come back i’m like holy cow
Bloodborne, Tomb Raider(96), or Metroid Prime.
.
I was going to say Assassin’s Creed Valhalla until I saw that the question ends with “because it’s the perfect game”
Valhalla is a deeply flawed game that I honestly sort of hated in that first year but I just keep finding myself playing it again every once in a while. Partly because the game is so goddamned long and my original save file got corrupted so I technically have never even finished the game once, but there’s honestly some really good components hidden in the bloat and poor decision making that bog the game down. Sort of like the Amazing Spider-Man 2
Tarkov, someone help me.
Fallout 4 addict here. Endless exploration, can't put it down
Titanfall 2. The campaign is so well done.
Arkham series. I'm playing thru them, again. I don't know how many times I've replayed at this point.
I'm on city right now. Fuck you advanced AR training!!!!! I still struggle on those lol
Wow
Overwatch 2
League of Legends. It ebbs and flows with my consistency.
Binding of Isaac.
Total War Shogun 2 took about 1500 hours of my life
Worth it .
Legend of Zelda ocarina of time
One I haven’t seen listed that I just always come back to eventually even though it’s not that great and rather toxic is Rust
It’s got this perfect dopamine fuelling gameplay style where there’s always something to do, improve, etc.
Even if I put it down for 12 months I’ll come back to it eventually for a wipe or two.
The base building and gameplay is almost one of a kind and it just tickles a weird urge.
The games a time pit tho my god
Honestly the binding of Isaac.
Satisfactory
Titanfall 2. I hadn't played since like 2017, but I returned when I heard they fixed the servers a couple of months ago. I'm closing in on 100 hours here in its second life, and man is it ever brilliant. Top notch movement, gunplay, mechanics, weapons... and you get to drop a huge mech from the heavens and go on a rampage every so often. What's not to love?
Sim racing. Once I started I couldn’t stop, I upgraded and upgraded and now I have VR, bass shakers and it’s never felt more realistic. It’s just so fun
Witcher / GTA (any of them) lol / RdR2 / NBA2k (even though its scam now) lol
Dwarf Fortress.
