Won't that completely negate the usefulness of screen protectors? Mine make a bubble if anything larger than a sperm cell is on the glass. Those visible bumps are going to make 50% of a screen cover not make contact at all.

It doesn't look like the bumps are in the glass.

I am so happy I returned mine...

Phone felt amazing, pictures were gorgeous, but the battery was disappointing. I never thought I was avoiding such a problem.

It would be ridiculous for any price, but for 1100€ or more this is beyond ridiculous.

Is it just me or do the pixels have issues with every new model

[–] rothj5@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Definition of it isn’t a bug, but a feature.

Can you actually feel the bumps or is it just superficial? Don't have a pixel but I'm curious

This of course will have NO effect on screen protectors. They come with matching bumps now, right? And Google will replace it for free if your screen is scratched without a protector too right?

Is the screen not glass? And if it is how are bumps pushing up through glass????

If this was Apple, they'd be attacking Google a whole lot more and saying things like Screengate.

The bumps spell out, "Buy an iPhone" in brail.

Wouldn't all of the Pixel 8 phones then have the same issue? Mine doesn't.

What they are really saying is they can't fix it, and don't want you to return the phone.

[–] LinkRazr@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Isn’t that….bad?

[–] herpestaco@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Bottom line, just buy an iPhone. Google makes trash

[–] hollow_bagatelle@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

So don't buy it.

Okay for real, is there any upside to pixel phones? My buddy had like, 3 6 pros cause they kept breaking, and just in general I feel like I've only heard negative things (speaking as a Samsung user)

I'm so confused as to why all these comments of people having miserable pixel experiences continue to use them. I've had the 1, 2, 4, 6 and 7. Pros of it existed. While certain ones have had minor issues for me, they've mostly been great devices to have. Amongst other wowing features, I'm always forced to take the group photos amongst a sea of iPhone users.

If you hate them, leave! iPhones are great too.
