I rarely touch competitive shooters/BRs anymore unless I am playing with friends. It's more about bullshitting on the mics these days and less about K/Ds and winning. Shit, I play a lot of PGA Road to the Masters just to shoot the shit and suck at golf just like I do in real life.
If I am not on a game with the boys then I am playing something I am truly enjoying.
I just recently booted up Final Fantasy IX again after years, had a sick day yesterday and got all the way to outer continent (disc 3?) One of my absolute favorite games. I'm loving every second of it.
If you aren't enjoying what you're doing, who is making you do it?
My gaming enjoyment went up tremendously when I finally accepted that if a game is no longer fun, I can just uninstall it and start something else. There is no obligation to finish a game just because you have started it.
Anyone else ever played sakura wars. Low key looks hella good. Just very dating sim anime . 😁
This is so true. I lost 7 years of gaming into a single MOBA and missed out on so many other great games. I regret it so much!
Agree wholeheartedly with this. Played Apex Legends for about 3 years straight, it took them to ban me for my username to finally jump back into my backlog of games and man, I'm thankful. Gaming is so much more meaningful when there are new experiences, stories to uncover, and progress to be made. Playing Apex, there would be those nights when you're on an endless losing streak and I gotta tell ya, you leave feeling more hollow than a fetid rotting corpse in dark souls. Jumping into multiplayer games once in a while is nice, but to play it constantly like I did is not it.
I want to have fun playing multiplayer games, but I just can't get good. Feels like it's just a coin flip of matchmaking ending in stomp or be stomped. I think I'm chasing the nostalgia of playing with friends, but they all stopped playing.
but I'm having fun in League
Barotrauma it is
A yes fun you say, after getting hit in the nuts in FTL I go to football manager get 4-0 and ended up playing CS2 and having 50/50 chance of winning lmao
Me! I bought Fallout 4 when I got my Xbox as I loved 3 but I just hate the community building but feel like I have to do it. So I hate play it and then ignore it for months.
i've been replaying RE4Remake on Hardcore and loving it
i enjoy getting my ass kicked
Well shit I feel attacked. I guess it's time to finish Baldurs Gate.
But Chucky is released today!!!
Just uninstall League this exact reason.
Game isn't fun, it's turbo unbalanced and a cesspool of a community.
But I want so desperately to be good at TF2. It is the only thing I have left. I have fucked up every other opportunity with my stupidity, and I can’t even blame it on a mental illness.
I say this once in a time to my friends but most don’t seem to understand or are lying to themselves
Me after one game of DbD and remembering how much fun I could be having playing H:L or FO4.
After being frustrated and mad in dota 2,and the guys decided to start a new valheim world, best fun i had in a while,bu we killed the queen recently and have nthn else to do so i guess they going back to dota 2,guess imma play smthn solo then
Stop playing online games just to progress a battlepass. If the game isn't fun enough to play without the carrot on the stick then you're wasting your own time.
No, I will suffer and play one game that I hate, but can’t stop
But ARAM is fun
Okay a couple matches on ARAM are fun I'll give you that
Yup! Avoiding addiction.
Not been a gamer for a very long time and this exactly is the kind of stuff I know people should avoid. Yet, everybody is doing it. Ugh.
Sound advice! I stopped playing World of Tanks a few months ago after playing it for 7 years. Now I'm enjoying finely-crafted single-player games that are actually FUN!
Specifically I'm playing the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series. I'd played through some of them a few years ago but 3 was too much of an adjustment so I stopped. Now I've replayed Kiwami, 0, and Kiwami 2, beaten 3 for the first time and I'm loving 4. This was a great decision.
I enjoy competitive game that don't require me teaming with another
Hell yea, many people forget games are supposed to be fun.
I do this, game frustrating? Stop playing/change game. Pretty much stopped with competition style games apart from Mario party and Mario kart due to rage build up
Examples. Bf series, getting lagged to hell despite top end broadband fibre cos ppl are coming in from out of region for the lag advantage they get.
Bf/Rainbow 6 also got ruined by all the full clans coming into casual mode and going full on "Pro strat pub stomping"
My server for bf3 said I had only a few rules. 1) no baserape/spawn camping, 2)in rush or conquest modes, play the objective. Don't just sit there with a sniper rifle all game.
This was worse on BF4 with larger servers I remember once thinking we were struggling in rush to push forward.
Checked the map fully half of a team on each side were just at back of spawn zones with snipers.
Most of them couldn't shoot for shite either. 45 min round and you sit there never moving and 3 kills for 20 deaths? Not helping!
Other online racing games just became a ramming contest. Okay Wreckfest you kinda expect it but in F1? Touring cars?
Dead by daylight I loved this game at first specially in Jill your friend mode where we mucked around (jump scaring my sister as Micheal Myers, never got old).
But the amount of times a random would lead killers to you/block you in, so their killer buddy could hook then face camp you to death. Or deliberately screw skill checks to make noise near you
Never mind the toxic teams too, 4 Claudette's in dark clothes and all with flashlights? No thanks.
Then. Cross play happened, add pc hackers on top of everything else and it became no fun.
I never had a problem losing games if it felt Fair, hell close fought losses in games are exciting but being camped into the floor or dealing with cheaters is never fun.
Ok, that got long I'll stop moaning
And it's ok to drop a game if you're no longer enjoying it. Games are like friendships. A rare few are meant for forever. Most last a season. And that's ok.
Go play some F’ing Rimworld and commit some war crimes and crimes against humanity.
You know you want to.
I was big into MW2 with my friends because it was just something we could hop in and out of. But it certainly made me more angry than happy. So glad we swapped to BG3. We actually look forward to playing it and seeing what crazy shit happens.
Your days are hard enough. Do something you enjoy is a great message.
Just got back into playing Skyrim after 10 years, and man, I forgot how good it is
Sad this has to be a reminder. It’s true though. I keep trying to convince people of this.
It's a shame.
99% of games I play are work, and the fun just isn't there. There's only so many times I can do Gunstar Heroes and Dynamite Headdy. Gaming is rapidly becoming less fun for me. Pseudoregalia was looking to be a smash hit for my needs, but getting lost for literally 3 hours with no progress killed the game instantly. Sucks being easily frustrated (leaving most games off the table, particularly anything multiplayer PvP, anything multiplayer with selection (read, MMO Raids/have to spend years in line to be relevant, and if you suck - no progress for you without risking your identity and life on Discord to random people), and super high intense difficulty over long periods (Ye Dark Souls and such).
It's Roguelites or bust since even if I lose, I'm not wasting too much time. They're not 'fun', but they're engaging in bite size bits. Someone mentioned Slay the Spire. I have no luck in card games so it's impossible to win, but I smile from time to time. More than I can say about most games.
you are very based
