While sleeping, wired. At my home office, MagSafe.

[–] NandroloneUA@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wired, charges once every 1-2 days. I bought a wireless Anker PowerWave Select+ that is in the car, which I used a couple of times

[–] EveInGardenia@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wired, have never had any luck with any form of wireless charging and now I use a pop socket anyways

[–] GMWorldClass@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wired to Anker Nano as needed. Typically wired Carplay use always keep me good

MagSafe on trips, at my desk, or with my Belkin MagSafe battery. Wired everywhere else.

Usually when I’m on a trip I just find it more convenient to use the MagSafe puck, or if I’m hanging out at my desk, that’s easier to use and have the phone propped up. The battery pack is also convenient on the go since it just snaps on, has a kickstand, and an extra USB port for any other accessories.

Wired everywhere else because I always had lightning cables lying around at various lengths. Now with USB-C, not only do I have one everywhere but pretty much everywhere I go, someone’s bound to have one. Plus my CarPlay isn’t wireless.

Wireless MagSafe all the way. Anti dust ass plug and my chargers are aliexpress. In the car one with a fan for some extra bit of cooling as my phone is a dashcam during driving and at home on stand duo charger.

Using this for years in my 12pm with no issues and 15pm gonna do the same.

I’ll never use a wireless charger that isn’t magsafe. Had so many of them and you needed to have the phone lined up perfectly or it wouldn’t charge. There were many times I’d put it on the charger and a couple of vibrations would move it off the mark and it’d stop charging.

I absolutely love the Apple MagSafe battery pack.
Having it manage charging for me is great.
Really hoping they make a new one!

[–] autokiller677@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wired. I am cheap. I already have cables, and not having to plug in a cable is not worth the price of a MagSafe charger for me.

[–] WD--30@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wired whenever I remember to plug it in just before I leave

[–] WhosCandicexD@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wired or MagSafe, mostly MagSafe because its so convinient. I have my Stand were i can charge my Apple Watch, my AirPods and my iPhone. Thats so satisfying when you come home from work, and you can just sit on your desk and put all your stuff to charge it, and you know that now its relax time

[–] Abi1i@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

MagSafe at night for nightstand mode, but I used to just use a Samsung wireless charging pad at night because it had a fan built into the charger which helped with keeping the phone and charging pad from getting too hot. Outside of using a wireless charger at night, I use wired to charge throughout the day because I have a cable in my bag.

[–] reversethrust@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I’m generally MagSafe - 15W charging in the car when I drive. I have a 5w anker wireless charger/stand at my desk and it works pretty well. Between the two of them I never need wired charger.

[–] ThisIsNotBruceWayne@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

All three. I have a MagSafe power bank that I carry with me if I’m going on long trips where I know I’ll be taking a lot of pictures and videos.

I use a wireless charger at home especially when working for long hours on my laptop, and I have a wireless charging holder in my car.

I use wired fast charging for, well, fast charging when I need to charge up before I go out and my battery is under 60%

Imo wired is still the best, it's the fastest and you can still use your phone while charging, what you obviously can't really do when it has to sit on a wireless charger (at least you can't hold it)

[–] KotBehemot99@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I only use MagSafe. I bought iPhone 14 Pro Max on the release day and the battery health still shows 100%. I don’t believe in zero degradation but it shows the system is not able to see the significant change.

[–] Flffdddy@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That’s amazing. My 14 Pro didn’t even make it one year before it was under 90. Currently sitting at 88. Do you use 15w charging?

[–] No_Importance_5000@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I used to be a wired fan with my Oneplus but now I use wireless magsafe and have a charger I got from Amazon which does phone watch and headphones. Made for Magsafe and is about 7.5W and I just leave my phone on overnight when it needs charging which is every 2 days for me

[–] JiggleMyHandle@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Magsafe, 100% My pockets seem to hide all of their lint in my iPhone Lightning port, and I got tired of having to dig it out once a month.

[–] SINY10306@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

(what are #2 & 3?) /s

[–] Empty-Swing@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I use magnetic adapter in my charging port

[–] Kapazza@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

ZikeTech MagSafe. All of the benefits of MagSafe, none of the negative effects (overheating the phone and battery).

[–] GrumpyGlasses@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wireless for work only because I use a charging stand before MagSafe was introduced. The charging stand lets the phone be in portrait mode and unlocking through Face ID by merely looking at it was super convenient. Also easy to take and go for meetings etc.

MagSafe for the car

Wired while charging next to the bed because it’s faster and won’t heat up while playing games.

What’s the difference between Magsafe and wireless?

[–] Kaessa@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

MagSafe at home. SO simple. I use wired in the car.

[–] Scofied642k@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wired always. Charging is faster and allows to use the phone while being charged.

[–] ExtrapolatedData@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wired. I haven’t tried MagSafe yet, and my Pop Socket is too big for the one wireless charger I have to work very well.

[–] SmiteIke@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

MagSafe probably 99% of the time.

Anker 7.5 watt MagSafe at night. Don't need anything faster since it's on the charger for 7-8 hours. Apple official MagSafe w/ mount in the truck (pairs great with wireless CarPlay)

In my purse--oops, I meant my "Every Day Carry Cross Body Sling"--I keep an Anker Nano Power Bank and man do I love this little thing. 30 watt output for full speed charging with a built in USB C cable and 10,000 mah capacity. Great for a quick top off of the battery. Anker Nano 511 30 watt charger if I need/want to plug into an outlet.

[–] new_tanker@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I've fully adopted MagSafe except for the car, which is wired., as I had heard CarPlay doesn't work with MagSafe (though I don't have CarPlay in mine).

Rather than use Apple's OEM MagSafe, I've purchased a bunch of these third party chargers. They're just as good, have a longer cable, and an option for how you connect (USB-A or USB-C). Oh and they're also easier on the wallet.

[–] mymy_lovesushi@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

wired mag safe never works for my phone

I only use magsafe cause I messed up my lightning port but I'd probably be using wired more. magsafe is still good tho

as for chargers get anker they're cheaper than Apple for the same amount of watts as apples and they're smaller. or their 30W bricks are the same price as apples 20W brick

[–] OkGrass2315@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wired. Wireless is a gimmick people convince themselves of it’s usefulness

[–] Bricks2me@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

aren't magsafe and wireless the same?

Well i typically charge my iphone with a cable. it’s faster and whatnot. My aunt got me a magsafe charger for my birthday and my mom got me airpods for my birthday, and i don’t even bother using the cable for the airpods. I just pop them on the magsafe and leave them alone while i get ready for the day or while i game.

Magsafe for the iphone is a little slow for my liking (or maybe it was just my thick otter box at first) but i’m gonna get an anker 3 in 1 soon and then leave it on while i sleep

[–] Steeljaw72@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I use wireless on my desk at home and work. 5v wired for everything else.

If you want the best longevity out of your battery, 5v wired is the best. Also, iirc, keeping the buttery between 20 and 80% also gives the best longevity for batteries.

I use ESR MagSafe 3 in 1 charger stand

[–] australiss@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I own a 3 in 1 MagSafe charger stand, a MagSafe charger, a wired charger, & the MagSafe battery pack… i only used wired charger and MagSafe battery pack when I’m on the go.

[–] pjain001@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

MagSafe on a wooden stand by Toast. Gives a nice earth aesthetic. Also the walnut finish matches my desk. https://www.toastmade.com/products/magsafe-charger-stand-solid-hardwood.html

In the car, I’m always wired but I’m on a 15P and the rest of the family is on 14P so having to switch cables when I get in and out of the car is annoying.

[–] Nexus1111@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

MagSafe on a stand. Haven’t used a cable once
