I use Magsafe at night when I go to sleep and fast wired charging if I'm in a hurry or when I'm in the car.

[–] Kingdavid2612@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Wired. Better and faster charging

More efficient as well. I don’t get the appeal for wireless. It’s practically a gimmick.

[–] ObligatedName@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (4 children)

MagSafe on the Anker Cube at night and wired for CarPlay.

[–] AbbeyRoadMoonwalk@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I just got an Anker cube. Pricey, but I do love it.

Wireless in the car, wired in the house.

[–] RobArtLyn22@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

MagSafe in the car, wired everywhere else.

[–] Dubya_Tea_Efff@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Wireless everywhere unless I’m at my desk and I need my phone for some reason. I’m getting another Anker cube soon though, so should be wireless everywhere soon.

[–] falconsfan1988@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Wired always.

The charging port on my phone broke in 2021. I don't know what it would have cost to get it repaired, but I'm certain it would have been more than the cost of the 3 Anker wireless charging pads that I bought for $45. I charged wirelessly for the next 2 years because that's the only way I could do it. After I got a new phone with a functional charging port, I did not see any good reason to give up the convenience of wireless charging. I doubt I'll ever go back.

If you are content to charge at 7.5w, then get the Anker 313 wireless charging pads. They work great and they are dirt cheap. There is a new wireless charging standard now (Qi2) and new chargers supporting that standard should be coming out any time now. Current Qi chargers are limited to 7.5w and don't have magnets. The new Qi2 chargers will be 15w with magnets, so very similar to Apple's MagSafe charger.

[–] UnBoundRedditor@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't qi2 adopt Apple's Magsafe magnet layout?

[–] gianspect@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

MagSafe for convenience

[–] united9198@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I am nearly 100% MagSafe.

[–] EddieJay5@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

magsafe. my port went to shit.

[–] alecdvnpt@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I have a wireless charger on my bedside table. Will probably eventually replace it with a MagSafe charger and dock if and when it breaks. MagSafe would make lining it up in the dark a lot easier.

[–] tman2damax11@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Magsafe at home, have a handful of chargers where I most commonly set my phone down, I never have to think twice about charging my phone, when it's set down, it's charging. Have a cable in my car as I need it for carplay.

[–] razrielle@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Wired, noticed my phone got super hot when charging wirelessly. Not sure if it was my charger or not.

[–] NastyCherryStan@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

i bought a cheap magsafe from shein, cut the wire off and just charge with a wired but have a magsafe stand

[–] UnBoundRedditor@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Wired when I can but Magsafe when I can't.

[–] justjokay@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

What’s the difference between MagSafe and wireless? I use a MagSafe charger and love it but have also been using my MacBook charger for super fast charging..

[–] DesperateWarthog3050@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Well the main benefit is the magnets of MagSafe guaranteeing that it’s in the right position. Some would argue it’s worse for charging your phone due to the heat it produces.

Op is confused about wireless charging

[–] lauradiamandis@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

wired only, magsafe has made every phone I’ve used it with get hot more often.

[–] tbone338@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

MagSafe overnight. Easy to grab and go in the morning and I’m not concerned about charging speed.

Throughout the day, wired.

[–] chocolatehandsoap@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I bought a MagSafe stand to use at night (Standby/Alarm Clock). I use wired when I'm lounging, watching videos. Wireless charging pad when I'm at work/my desk.

Just a basic one off Amazon. "CreaDream Stand for MagSafe Charger, Aluminum Stand Holder"

[–] SurealGod@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I'm pretty much magsafe wireless all the time now. At my desk, on my nighstand, my car.

It's just so easy. You plop it down and set and forget. Especially with the new "charge only to 80%" feature, it's amazing.

[–] woozle618@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Was using an Apple MagSafe charger with Apple 20W adapter. Quit MagSafe and now have an 6ft AmazonBasics cable to the Apple 20W adapter. Much better. Also wired with 3ft Apple cable to the integrated USB port. Both wired options charge faster than the MagSafe did.

[–] xcrunner10K@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Wired for during the day, wireless at night

[–] JAY20WEST@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago
[–] kameleongt@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Wired when possible. I hate how a lot of wireless chargers are slower and heat the phone up.

[–] airysunshine@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I use wired or MagSafe.

[–] Few-Owl-2051@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

When I had my iPhone 14 PM I always used my MagSafe. Now, I have the 15 PM and I have a ring holder on the back of my phone for easier grip so I use wired charging. But overall, MagSafe for more convenience because I can drop my phone on the charger, but wired charging for a faster charger and wired charging doesn’t create as much heat.

[–] BeautyBabe91@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Wired at home (fast!!) and Magsafe when I’m out and about.

[–] bugginsthegod-xb1-ps@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I use MagSafe at home. Wires everywhere else.

[–] thats_close_enough_@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Most of the time wired but sometimes using magsafe anker charger on my nightstand.

[–] TeslasAndComicbooks@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Wireless. I just put it on a pad when I go to sleep.

[–] happydnjdjdje1@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Wired for me

[–] cr38tive79@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago
