Spotify = crap quality music. Get Apple Music or Tidal.

[–] violinfiddleman@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I agree. I like it for the curation, playlist, and podcast aspect, but the quality is still pretty lackluster. They said they were going to lossless and I am going to hold out until they do. Tidal was buggy, and Apple music was annoying to manage.

Spotify and amp? For? Amplifying bad sound

[–] violinfiddleman@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Of course the one time I take photo is the time I am using Spotify instead of my own library. Haha 😂 I use my own lossless files for albums I own, but use Spotify to check out albums that are recommended to me.

Well that's the good way!!!

U got any other suggestions on what to do with it? I’m using an iPhone 13 and also got an iPhone SE just sitting in the corner

[–] TAbramson15@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Is that basically a high quality Dac plugged into the iPhone’s low quality dac to upgrade the sound quality with professional headphones? 😅

[–] violinfiddleman@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I wish. I would love a good pocket DAC, but this is just a headphone amplifier. I have some high impedance headphone that need a little more juice to sounds nice. :)

Just so you know, you should be connecting the fiio through a usb cable. Right now you are using the phone’s DAC which isn’t as good as the fiio one. Yeah this helps for high impedance headphones, but if you are using lossless audio you aren’t hearing the benefit.

I’m really bad at differentiating good sounding music from an average sounding music. Good speakers are lost on me. On the bright side, I save money 🥲😁

That’s a pretty cool setup and probably sounds amazing

How much was the daq I have so many questions

[–] nooneinpar7@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

…wow, that’s a really short cable.

[–] smackaroonial90@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

That phone design was the climax of iPhone design.

[–] Appropriate-Eyes@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

What DAC\amp are you using? Also which IEMs are you plugging into that thing?

[–] Homicidal_Pingu@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Ah yes the headphone amp that you don’t need and you’re playing it through Spotify fml

[–] rollintrovert@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I still keep my SE1, there's something about it that feels premium when you hold it.

How big is the audio difeerence between this set up and straight up airpod pro or sony wf1000xm5?

[–] Acalthu@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Square shape of the SE goes so well with most portable amps. I use a 6s myself, the only question i have with the SE is, does Spotify work well with the low DPI screen? It has a hard time with the 6s as it is sometimes.

[–] NotMizer@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I thought I was in headphones subreddit, SE first gen supremacy tho

This will be the NeW design for the 16 lineup :D That design is still so crisp, damn.

My old SE (both actually) is working good

[–] robogobo@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

So pissed they stopped making smaller phones.
