Update: I figured it out! This is Fiddle Leaf Fig Edema since I did not see any spider mites up close.

Is it still like this? Has it changed at all? New damage? Does your fresh growth look damaged?

It appears to be unchanged (the discolouration was present when I received the plant). I'll keep an eye on it in case I see any creepy-crawlies.
