99% the same. I imagine some cool little software features here and there. The kind of features that are QoL improvements but not really relevant like the rubberband thing when scrolling.

Some terrorized engineeers spending an entire semester working overtime doing minimal tweaks until the man decided it was good to go.

I would think that there would still be a space reserved for the option of a physical SIM card. It would make data switching so much easier. Of course, maybe thatwouldnt be a problem for some of these things at this point.

I think the phones would be smaller and the camera wouldn’t stick out

[–] jopi404@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They would have stayed thinner and maybe smaller. All Apple product where always about being thinnest in class. And then they became thicker again unfortunately

Probably wouldn’t be so phallic

[–] Hutch25@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Highly doubt it would be much different.

Triangle phone

Steve Jobs was an human too. It's astonishing how people tend to evangelize him.

In 2007 the requirements of an smartphone were different than nowadays. So it's hard to believe that he foresee everything or would stand on dogma like : finger reachability one handed or no digitizer..

[–] swiftsorceress@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

We would still have Skeumophism.

[–] purplemountain01@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I think a lot of things Apple has done today on the iPhone wouldn't have been allowed with Steve. The protruding camera and how the whole camera bump looks awkward, notch, and what the iPhone has become. Apple went from a company that was very focused on the product to a company that cares less about the product. Apple today seems like they only care about pumping out products and printing money and way less product focused. Personally, I don't think that's such a great look.

I think Steve would have transitioned the iPhone to USB -C when the USB macbook Pro was released. To allow seamless transition. And there would be no longer USB-A on any products.

Lighting connector would have been history by 2020 if Steve was still alive.

[–] JunkGOZEHere@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Steve's creation was so that simple needs would have access to a simple operating device. It's was a cult like hysteria that took over the simple world. Apple would probably be in control of the entire mobile landscape.

[–] softsnowfall@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

We would have stronger phones that would be basically unbreakable. There wouldn’t be crappy buggy iOs releases.

Steve ALWAYS cared about quality, design and the perfect user experience, and NOT taking a step backwards. I feel like Tim doesn’t much care if it’s two steps backward as long as Apple makes more money.

I don’t think there would be Apple TV+. No Apple Music subscription. Needless harsh rules and limitations.

[–] FancyMrPeterson@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I alway say, jobs never would have allowed the camera lenses to stick out line they do.

[–] Kerlutinoec@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I think nearly the same

[–] Sacto1654@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If Jobs was still alive, the iPhone would probably about iPhone 12/13 mini size at best. Reason: he wanted a phone that could be mostly one-handed in operation.

[–] Kriem@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I believe the deviced would have stayed smaller. He truly believed in a “one hand” device.

[–] odebruku@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Less buggy and Siri will do more than timer’s and turn lights on/off

[–] speedster_5@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Siri likely wouldn’t have been this shit

[–] Relative-Eye1950@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He would probably make a battery widget that included the iPhone, the Apple Watch and the iPad.

[–] THEMACGOD@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

We probably wouldn’t have product line glut across the board.

[–] TopG20233@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It would have been so different and more like an android iPhone

[–] youlinter@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He’d care about shareholders pockets too but maybe not as much as Tim. We’d have a proper iPadOS for years already. He’d actually try to inovate the smartphone business. And maybe the prices wouldn’t start from 1600 euros for a smartphone that has nothing above above the average Android phones.

He’d make phones not politics too 🤷‍♂️

[–] Scoota_king@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I think we wouldn’t be behind in so much compared to android. He would have understood how the competition to keep iPhone in the one number spot in all categories.

[–] pineapplepredator@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I personally don’t think the many personalizations would have been added like the widgets and automations. It would have been a less buggy streamlined collection of preset automations for example. Those types of diy setups felt like a change in direction

[–] YSLkitten@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Probably be on the Apple mind chip

[–] TOFUSATSU@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Probably blender for iOS and iPad 🤣

[–] Patient-Art-7526@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He would not be be opening up mobiles/ Mac so much like it is now..

Ofcourse I miss the showmanship

[–] RiotSloth@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The Pro Max would have a five inch screen and a single 4” diameter camera lens on the back 😄

[–] jebe4@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Heck yes! It's been resting on his laurels since...

[–] Vaxion@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The only thing I can think of is that Steve would've never allowed cutting a part of the screen for faceID.
