First picture is a spring loaded speaker wire connector.

The second picture is the back of the same connector. The metal tab has come out of the black connector and I'm trying to see if I can fix it or need to replace

If you have a soldering iron just replace it with some screw terminal banana sockets. They're sturdy, can take almost anything and cheap.

Hmm yes. Thanks! I'll have to figure out how to do that. You've given me an idea because there's an audio out port just next to it that I don't use so maybe I can remove that and put the banana in there and just solder it to that tab on the negative terminal.
