In the settings you can turn off photos . The app would be there but It won’t show anything

[–] NomusaMagic@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What kind of photos would your family not be comfortable with?

[–] sean_themighty@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Did you at least get a fist bump?

[–] da-funk-is-up@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

“Oh, that’s not the turkey I was looking for…”

[–] VibePT@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Muahhhh what an warrior!

[–] Pvnisherx@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Put it in your hidden folder it won’t appear on the tv then. Well actually I can’t confirm that totally but that stuff won’t show up in the photos.

[–] RebelliousCash@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I don’t even have my photos set up on mine. I set everything else up but I left photo app untouched. Weird it’s even on the Apple TV if you ask me

[–] Rbrtsluk@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Ok you have to give us all a look now

[–] ptx710@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

You can also bury the app in a folder

[–] FuShiLu@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Just set those photos/videos to private. This has been available for several years. Ensure full iCloud encryption is on and your good.

[–] SignificantIce6434@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Ahhhh! The eternal problem! Just turn off iCloud sync.

[–] iMust-Change-7343@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I had to do this too lo, I don’t remember now though im too high !

[–] gcerullo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (5 children)

Move the questionable photos to the ‘Hidden’ album and no one will be able to accidentally see them if they happen to view your photos using the Photos apps on the Apple TV. That’s why Apple created the ‘Hidden’ album.

[–] CoronelSquirrel@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It's a wonder more people don't know/use this folder. 85% of Apple users just raw dogging the root save location.

[–] reirone@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This is the way. Or just disable iCloud photos on your appletv entirely, as others have said. I do both.

[–] sean_themighty@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I honestly wish you could choose to search the hidden album. Either search from in it, or check a box in search, unlock biometric, and boom — included.

I’d love to use the hidden album more but it’s a bit neutered once you start really filling it up.

[–] PsychoticGiggle@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oh you’re really building a collection over there

[–] sean_themighty@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

There’s an option under settings to not allow iCloud photos. I’m with you, I don’t want anything from my phone to show on the TV lol.

I heard if you post them here then they won’t show up in the Photos app. gifgif

[–] Rum-ham17@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

OP’s profile says they’re 14. Yikes dawg

[–] bytor99999@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah didn’t look at the profile. deleted.

[–] BFIrrera@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Why are your nudes on your icloud anyway? That’s asking to be hacked.

[–] ThePerfectCantelope@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Turn off photo streaming from iCloud in the settings

[–] 08830@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

lol Happy Thanksgiving

[–] gg_whitesnow@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If photos or movie have personal sensitive material, DON’T store it in the cloud, doesn’t matter who’s the service provider. Don’t trust it. Don’t leave in you phone too, be can be stolen and making very easy to preying eyes.

Buy an external mnve drive that has password lock and store it in a safe place.

[–] Bluion6275@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I’ve got mine set to only show Shared Albums.

[–] Krimreaper1@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (4 children)

Also you put the photos in the hidden folder on your phone.

I believe you should be able to delete the app on the tv but if not you can put the questionable photos in the hidden folder on your phone/mac. That’s where all my sexy photos go and they are locked with Face ID

[–] Then-Ad6436@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Just put that stuff in your hidden folder. Works like a charm

[–] sean_themighty@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yes, unfortunately the hidden folder is neutered so you can’t search in it or anything or choose photos from it in an upload dialog or anything.

[–] lk6@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I never logged into it so mine is not confirmed, it just says view icloud / shared but if you click on either, it asks for approval via phone. Is there no way to undue that?

[–] msvillarrealv@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Turn it off. Go to Settings -> Users -> Default User -> Photos -> Off.

[–] Mission_Bite_3976@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Create new iCloud account and share benefits with it such as Apple TV and use it strictly for tv nothing else - photos are excluded along with everything else

[–] vfxjockey@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If you don’t want friends and family to judge you harshly, also delete Peacock.

[–] SPEEDYTBC@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

How much would it cost us to have you leave it and tell us about it?

[–] GuyNamedLindsey@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I only used shared album. My wife and I add any new photos of the kids and family and set it as screensaver. It’s nice having an ever changing screen saver on there. And unlike your hidden photos, your family will love it.

[–] Nasty-Milk@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Settings > User > Photos > Turn Off

[–] Thumper-Comet@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Put those pictures in your hidden folder.

[–] ADHDK@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I put my questionables in the faceID locked private folder

Place the pictures in question in your hidden folder

[–] madscribbler@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Use this on your phone for photos. It encrypts them, hides them behind a 'audio management panel', or 'calculator', or other fake app which you long press on the title or some such, enter a pin, and it lets you into the photos, videos, apps and things you want hidden.
