My partner and I are currently long distance. One thing that we like to do is FaceTime as we fall asleep together. My problem is, I don’t necessarily like my phone running all night until I wake up and it’s also harder to hear my alarms go off when in a FaceTime call. Is there any sort of timer that can be set that can end the FaceTime call while I’m asleep? Thanks!

I don’t believe there’s a way to end a FaceTime without either party ending it. You could make a shortcut that runs between a certain time that will lock the screen automatically, essentially stopping video but keeping your audio part going. Or you could make a shortcut that turns off WiFi and cellular for a second and then turns it back on at a certain time, which would end the call.

Here is a shortcut I made for you that will disable WiFi and cellular at 2am, it will then re enable them at 2:01am and lock your screen.

If you’d like a different time let me know.

You will also need to make an automation to run this at a certain time. Shortcuts app, tap automations on bottom, tap plus on top right, tap time of day, select time of day (2am for this instance), repeat daily, run immediately, toggle off notify when ran. And then select the shortcut to run
