Hey! Galaxy Note 10+ owner here, and been really considering switching to apple and Iphone 15 pro. Two biggest reasons for my change would be 120 Hz screen and a smaller phone in general. So my question is,how is the "promotion" on Iphone 15 pro with the latest updates? I did some research and apparently not all apps run with 120hz and in general the refresh rate changes a lot to conserve battery. I would prefer my next phone to run at 120hz pretty much all the time. So any info would be apperciated. How is the refresh rate on social media, general scrolling, news reading, videos, gaming etc. Thanks in advance!

120hz feels good but for some reason on my s23 ultra it just feels so much better.

I upgraded from a iPhone XS to an iPhone 15 pro and promotion is a game changer. Incredibly smooth and fast.

It's mostly 80 hz, very rarely 120. For vertical scrolling, you need to go quite fast to get to 120, to the point where you can't read the information on it anyway. Horizontal scrolling however is a lot more lively, reaching 120 on almost any movement.

24 48 60 and 120 fps videos play at 24 48 60 120 hz, while anything in between defaults to 60 (for example 60fps video on 1.25x speed on YouTube is displayed at 60hz, while 2x speed at 120hz).

Games that can do 120fps, run at 120hz, but some have issues with Fps stability (Wild Rift for example cannot hold 120fps even on low settings, it just jumps around 105 - the display however is locked in on 120hz - this seems to be an issue due to the way Promotion works on iPhones, which is different to iPads' Promotion, but it's up to the devs of the app to adapt to the new version).

Source: I've done plenty of tests so far with an app called Lock Launcher that lets me put both the fps (what the screen receives from the SoC) and hz (how fast the screen refreshes) into the dynamic island.

I must say though, even if the phone almost never goes to 120hz, it still feels A LOT smoother to me than my locked to 120hz Samsung S21FE, especially while browsing.

You can dm me if you want me to test any apps in particular.

I switched to an iPhone after being an android user for 12 years and my 15 pro max is the smoothest phone I’ve ever held in my hands. 120hz works beautifully with every app I’ve used.

Ex note 10+ user here. Also, I used to use an S21 ultra. But traded that phone in, so my wife could get the ss22 ultra cheaper. Also, I was switching over to iPhone 14 Pro Max. I’d say do it! You’ll love it! Takes some time to get used to over time. A few features you might miss from Android. But eventually you’ll get used to it.

Otherwise, if you do decide. Make sure it’s what you really want/need. Definitely a HUGE upgrade from the N10+. 5G, promotion is great!, screen is great! Its battery life is really good. I do miss the size of the note/s21u (despite the s21u being rounded with a curved screen, and nearly the same size as the Pro max)

I did have to get used to the non curved screens. It’s what I liked about the notes/s21u.

Good luck on your adventure if you do decide to upgrade/switch!
