I got a walking pad/treadmill to go under my standing desk and its been great for doing more exercise and not being sat down all day. But my Ultra doesn't register steps with it when doin an indoor walking work-out, I think maybe as my wrist is pretty still as its typing on the keyboard.

Anyone got any ideas on how to get it to count steps?

Log it as an “Other” Workout.

If you want the steps and calorie expenditure to be registered wear your Apple Watch on the ankle, if you just want some calorie expenditure to be registered track the activity as an Other workout.

Your watch on your wrist on your desk won’t be able to detect your steps.

You can put your phone in your pants pocket to record steps if you want to keep your watch on your wrist.
