I know this is a dumb question because we all know the answer to it.

I just feel like it's kind of a mental illness at this point, people foaming at the mouth in outrage over a meme or being a trump supporter or liking the color green.

The reason why I get confused as to why people are like this nowadays, is because I'm coming from an open minded, understanding, laid back but also no bullshit perspective.

Like I understand that certain groups of people face specific challenges that others don't. But at the same time, I feel like people need to understand that everyone has different values, we're brought up differently, or believe different things.

And just because they hold different beliefs doesn't make them a bigot.

I'll give you an example as to why this annoys me.

LGBTQIA Individuals for the most part, and from what I've seen, despise religion and Christianity. They think it's brain wash and so forth. And generally hate Christians because obviously Christians find their lifestyle 'sinful '

My point is, this isn't the 1800's. Even though some people are religious doesn't mean they fucking hate you. That's like me saying every gay person is fucking annoying. (Bc of the propaganda being forced down our throats)

I have family members who are Christians and I have faith in God also but I consider myself agnostic. They are accepting, it's not a big fucking deal. We DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE GAY.

We still consider your a person who should be treated with respect. For most Christians, that's What Jesus would do.

I know that sounds fucking silly. But it's true. OBVIOUSLY there are some religious ppl who are by the book, but this is 20fucking23.

The left always fucking says shit like ' societal norms are changing to be more accepting '

So why fuck aren't they applying that when it comes to this?

Huh....I don't fucking know dude

As a Christian, I agree. God did teach to love others no matter what and to help and uplift them. I have several gays friends and they are some of the most laid back people.

Its the internet. Everybody puts on a fake mask and acts however they like. The problem comes when some of those individuals transfer the internet life in the real world.

I'd suggest that one should go out more if he doesn't like the "people" of the internet.

Because for some reason life became a teams sport. If your not on my team outrage. Hell even if your on the same team outrage.

They made life a team sport because they have no individual accomplishments to speak of

Reddit refugee here that finally received a permanent ban for denouncing paedos. It’s the result of coordinated conditioning. The goal(s) are obvious.

I’m gay. No problem with religious people. Never encounter “bigotry” except from the left where having a nuanced opinion is tantamount to being a literal Nazi.

Mental illness has become a self-diagnosed fashion statement and it’s no surprise that the same people wearing it identify as fictitious genders simping for authoritarian political policies.

I’m so upset there’s such a lack of moderate/right presence here. I joined exploding-heads because my views as a gay conservative on Reddit were gaining traction, until it came to an abrupt stop over something fundamentally agreeable and bipartisan.

The .world hack showed me what it was like if .world wasn’t being curated by the same commies controlling Reddit but even Reddit allowed dissenting subreddits to exist.

Is this really all there is to the fediverse for someone who doesn’t abide by Reddited, tankie groupthink? Are there more popular instances that give a shit about freedom? Ffs where is all the based?

Damn, that was a great first post man. And welcome.

Can't speak for everyone but I'm glad to have more types of people here who don't give into the pedoarchy and actual bigotry of the modern left and think most folks I've talked to here would agree.

Agree with this part a lot too. You might be interested to check out some of the nostr posts around the instance. Quick version is that nostr is a new protocol that is more decentralized than lemmy in that it is built so that users can block each other but that admins can't deplatform and prevent users from seeing other users/etc. Probably not the best description... Anyway it's new and not really ready yet but a lot of folks here are looking at it as a potential solution to the problem you described and site admins have expressed interest in eventually moving to it.

They have nothing else to do and are so far deep in the self-hatred and self-loathing that they cannot stand their own existence anymore, and must do everything they can to feel validated and special even though they are human garbage. Simple.
