Good evening folks. I am looking for some advice on where to begin with some specific devices that I own.
My overall goal is mainly that I want to be able to be able to host my digital collection of movies and tv shows on my network, so my wife and I can easily access them from our TV or computers while we work. I have got a few odds and ends for different devices so I'm hoping to share those and find out what my best options are.
The summer before my first year of college I got two Raspberry Pi 3b+ from this Linux camp thing I went to at one of my local colleges. I'm pretty comfortable using them, but i've never actually had a project where they would be really useful.
I also have an older NUC type of computer that had been running OpenWRT, my previous job had moved buildings and there was a lot of things up for grabs, it has a Celeron J1900 and I think 4 gigs of ram but I'd have to double check.
Also from that job I have an older LG NAS (https://www.lg.com/us/burners-drives/lg-N2B1DD2-network-attached-storage) with 2tb of storage that ideally would be what i'd use, though I could sell it and maybe set up something for efficient with one of the PI's?
With all that in mind, does anyone have any recommendations for a setup for media hosting with these devices? I know I could use one of the Pi's to connect from a distance (My new job I am wfh but will be staying in hotels for days at a time so being able to access movies would be nice). Any other suggestions would be appreciated! Once I know where to begin I'll have no problem researching and getting everything up, but knowing where to start has been the hardest part for me so far
