IDK about HomePod, but if I have my iPhone and work MBP (different iCloud accounts) together and say hey siri, the swirl appears briefly on the MacBook, but then disappears when the phone Siri binks. Is it listening for other devices nearby?

It determines how close you are to one or the other, or which voice is louder.
