Under the interpretation put forward by police, parents who refuse to use the alternative pronouns for their children or refuse to pay for their transitioning could be criminally prosecuted.

Considering that if you do absolutely nothing there's between a 60 and 90% a chance that the problem solves itself and the child ends up with and their assigned at birth gender identity, this is looking a little bit to me like state mandated eugenics or state mandated lobotomies -- history is not going to be kind to these people.
