As an American DN (m/ late 30’s), I’ve been thinking about how to save for retirement. Since I work for myself, I don’t have access to a 401k. Since I live mostly overseas, I haven’t been contributing to an IRA (I might be wrong and perhaps I can contribute but I'm under impression I can’t) so I’ve been mainly investing in low cost index funds. I’m currently able to invest between $4K-8k USD a month into a brokerage , and I figure that’s what I’ll continue doing until I learn about other ways people (especially Americans) are saving for retirement. I’m curious if there are other investment vehicles people in the community use to save for retirement (especially Americans who aren’t working for a company that gives them a 401k or similar)
