George still running on those softs at lap 25 is nuts.

[–] CataclysmZA@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Nyck keeping it clean as well. Very impressive.

[–] bhmnscmm@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I think running the soft so long and being able to go to mediums is going to end up a lot better than everyone running hards

[–] misterbassman@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Norris in pole!

[–] Morningcoffee@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Softs are looking durable, surprising more aren't considering it

[–] krische@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I hope they keep Lando out long enough to put on softs.

[–] lackthought@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Norris is going to get eaten alive

hards make no sense

[–] zav@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Very disappointed in mclaren rn... they threw this race

[–] Belseb@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

This should be a fun 15 or so laps to the finish. Gonna be hard for Mclaren, id bet ver - ham - rus for the podium

[–] IamAnonymous@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I’m so disappointed with McLaren.

[–] espentan@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, what the heck. RUS and others had just shown how well the softs were holding up, but McLaren went with hards for a final 14-15 laps. I just don't get it..

[–] SatouKazuma@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I'd guess they had a plan in mind before the race, and were completely unwilling to deviate. That's the only explanation that makes sense here. Surely they're not just willingly obtuse.

[–] goldenjoe6@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Inevitable but that was 4 laps more than I thought we’d get to see a McLaren leading this race

[–] Karnoff@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

WE HAVE A RACE!

For now anyway. Love it

[–] bhmnscmm@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

So how is this formation lap with the apex car supposed to work? Will they just follow at the back and enter the pitlane?

Rain in the distance, that could spice things up.

[–] therittleman@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Other than a predictable finish for max this was a great race to watch. Cars were able to follow closely and battle through corners. Great finish for Norris and Piastries hope they can keep it up.

Max 5 seconds ahead of P2 by lap 3
