Many thanks to @Vittelius@feddit.de for creating this!

Ah forgot about that. (idk why DB has so many different apps...)
Do they show local transport now? I have the DB app for buying tickets, but never used it beyond that.
Yes they are now connected with most bus services as well
Perfect, thanks a lot!
You should also consider Nina and or KATWARN for safety reasons, its a warn apps for emergencys and catastrophes, hope you don't need it but it might be useful.
Sounds useful, I'll have a look. Thanks!
Organic Maps is a fantastic alternative to Google maps, especially if you want to go biking or hiking. They use Openstreetmap.
For one, the DB Navigator app is a real multitool about most things public transport, even if you are not taking high-speed trains. You can use it instead of most local official apps.
Not Germany specific, but if you need an eSim for mobile phone service while you’re here visiting, I would recommend Airalo. Really good prices for a temporary SIM (e.g. $10 USD for 3GB) and no need to go through the hassle of registering and activating a SIM card.
I still hold on to my German sim, so that's not a problem. And unfortunately eSIMs are banned in China since you can just download any random one and bypass the great firewall, so our phones are restricted to physical ones :-/
Wife, huh? Congrats :)
Haha, thanks! And sorry for the late reply, somehow the comment notifications don't work properly here...
