What's the difference between upvoting the post in the feed and upvoting the OP after clicking on the post? (lemmy.world)

Shouldn't these be the same thing? Or am I missing something? Often I will click a post in the feed, read it, and then decide it's valuable and want to upvote it. But then I have to go back to the feed and upvote it. Seems unnecessary, and extra clicks.

Are you using the Jerboa app on Android? The votes in the two places are the same, but Jerboa doesn't update the feed when you vote in the post. If you refresh it will show your vote in the feed. It's a small bug.

They are the same. You can upvote a post once you click on it. It should be right below the title.
