My default is Subscribed | New comments.

Hot and Active are too slow. New Comments lets even old posts rise to the top showing that new comments are being made and can be interacted with.

Then I switch to Subscribed | New to jump on new posts if I want to, and then finish up with All | New Comments and dive into the action lol.

What's your strategy?

I mostly stay on New and block all the magazines whose content I have 0 interest in, just to keep the amount of refreshing I need to do down. I'll occasionally switch over to Hot to see what the hivemind is interested in, but yeah otherwise it's far too slow.

I agree that Hot and Active don't seem to give enough weight to time. The same handful of threads have been on the front page of both for me for a couple days. I'm probably going to stick with New for now.

Subscribed | Hot. Scroll for a bit then change it to | New. Scroll a bit then change it to All | Hot or New

I use subscribed / top day or all / top day. It sort of filters out seeing the same posts?

Edit: theres also a setting you can uncheck that says show read posts in your profile

I've been sorting by new the last couple days. Great way to find more communities to subscribe to as well.
